Ame-chan, also known by her streamer alter ego as OMGKawaiiAngel or KAngel, is the main protagonist of NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD and its manga adaptation NEEDY GIRL OVERSOSE: Run With My Sick.
A troubled NEET who has aspirations into becoming the #1 "Internet Angel" through live-streaming. She is P-Chan's lover, having moved into an apartment, trying to find her doing by live-streaming, in her online persona known as KAngel.
Background[]
Ame was raised in a low-income household from a young age. She witnessed her parents' regular arguments in front of her and their eventual divorce, yet the arguments persisted. Ame's mother had nearly forced her into prostitution to earn money before she fled her house and moved between any friend groupings that would allow her to stay. Her parents ignored her, and they don't give a damn about anything she told them. So, she has always wanted to be famous so that others would come see her.
Nevertheless, given that Ame and P-Chan pay them a visit at their house halfway through the game and that Ame states she might move back in with them if her streaming career doesn't work out, it could be implied from the So Close Yet So Far ending that her parents are still living together and may have remarried or recently reconciled.
In primary school, Ame also endured bullying, as at least one child teased her for being pretty. She thus turned into a loner and frequently skipped class. Ame claims to be a "中卒" (or "Middle School Graduate") in the Japanese version of the game, indicating that she did not complete high school.
Before Ame became a streamer, she lived with P-Chan. Ame-chan tried to attract attention by meticulously planning and speculating about her streaming life. P-Chan put up her streaming equipment and began broadcasting. She and P-Chan were given a month to reach one million members.
Appearance[]
As Ame-chan, she is a little, fair-skinned young woman with medium-length black hair that she wears in sloppy twin tails tied with red hair ties. She has thin black eyes, but her bangs cover her left eye. She is dressed in a black pinafore with golden buttons and accents, a black ribbon, a golden x-shaped hair clip, a red blouse with puffy white wing-like sleeves, and plain black knee-high socks and generic black shoes. In keeping with her attire, she has also painted her nails crimson and black. Official statues of her design depict her wearing ankle boots with red shoelaces, despite the fact that her sprite is dressed in socks due to the indoor environment.
As KAngel, she seems far more vivacious and "girly-looking" than she does in real life. Instead, her platinum blonde hair has a purple gradient on her bangs, and her baby blue eyes, which appear much nicer, are exposed. Instead, she has long hair that she still arranges into twin tails, but she goes for a more quirky blue-pink color scheme with her twin tails swirling around one another to resemble DNA.
Her outfit consists of a holographic seifuku (制服), a holographic microskirt, holographic shoes, and holographic ankle straps. She is also wearing a number of bows that are brilliant blue, purple, pink, and red in hue, as well as little heart-shaped accessories that are the same hues and are running up her left thigh. In addition, she has painted her nails hot pink, pink, yellow, and blue.
Personality[]
As Ame-Chan, she is an honest, sensitive, lonely, and insecure girl. She is a very internet-dependent girl who has a serious obsession with P-Chan. Despite being an adult otaku herself, she exhibits a strong dislike for adults and the geeky habits of her audience. She also regularly damages herself throughout the game if she is under a lot of stress, and she may use powerful narcotics if she is experiencing mental gloom. She may also develop an addiction to sexual activity and tenderness in other ways.
She adopts a manic pixie dream girl character as KAngel and acts like a really nice and loving person. Additionally, she has a reputation for flirting with her admirers—more especially, otaku fans. In contrast to her off-stream persona, she is quite brave and speaks to both supporters and detractors in a condescending (but kind) manner. Unless Ame is under a lot of stress, Kangel's façade seldom fractures, although occasionally, Ame's true self may come through to a lesser degree.
