Antonio Perez is the tertiary antagonist in Despicable Me 2. He is the preteen son of Eduardo Perez (aka El Macho) and the first boyfriend of Margo Gru, much to the disapproval of Felonius Gru.
He is voiced by Moisés Arias.
History[]
Margo meets Antonio by the wishing fountain at the mall when he saves her from falling in, and she develops a crush on him. Later, Antonio invites Margo to his father, Eduardo, at his restaurant "Salsa y Salsa" for a cookie. Later, Gru found Margo on a date with Antonio, and discovered that Antonio is Eduardo's son.
Gru and the girls go to the Cinco-de-Mayo party. Antonio and Margo start to dance, and Gru tries to stop them, but isn't successful.
After Gru comes back from El Macho's lair, he sees Margo upset after Antonio dumped her for another girl named Rosa. Gru uses a freeze ray to freeze Antonio in a block of ice, in revenge. As Antonio stands there frozen, Rosa stands there in shock for a second before she begins to pulls her hand away while Antonio grips onto her hand, but it fails. It is not known what happens to Antonio after El Macho's defeat, or if he was freed from the block of ice.
Personality[]
Antonio is a charming and arrogant boy who can be seductive and smooth towards girls as shown when Margo Gru sees him at the mall and takes interest in him.
Like Margo, he is sarcastic and sassy towards Felonious Gru, as shown when he tries to protect Margo from Antonio. He even can be mean-spirited as shown in an instance when he kicks Gru in the crotch while trying to protect Margo from Gru.
Appearance[]
Antonio is a Latin-American boy with short black hair that has bangs swept to the left, brown eyes, and thin eyebrows. He wears a dark purple t-shirt with a dark gray scarf, a black leather jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes with gray details.

- Maria Perez (Antonio's mother) is never seen nor mentioned.
- It is unknown if Antonio was aware of his father's villainous identity or not.
- It is unknown how Antonio broke up with Margo when he was seen dancing with another girl named Rosa.
