Armzo is a minor antagonist in the surreal animated sitcom Smiling Friends. He is a clerk at OfficeCrap, an office supply store, and makes his sole appearance in the episode "A Allan Adventure", where he gets into an argument with Allan Red.
He is voiced by David Dore.
Why aren't they heroic or villainous?[]
- In his only appearance, all he does is neglectfully work as a stock clerk and be crude to one of the customers. Therefore, nothing he does is heroic, and he is a merely a jerk instead of a villain.
Appearance[]
Armzo is a turquoise, humanoid critter with a long, pointy nose and three thin, wispy black hairs on the back of his head. He has six arms, matching his name, with each arm ending in a hand that has four digits. His legs, however, are limited to two. He has an elongated neck and light stubble on his chin. For work, he wears a light-red bowtie, an orange vest, a white button-up shirt, jeans equipped with a gold-buckled belt, and black shoes.
Personality[]
Armzo is a pointlessly irritable individual who displays a particularly hostile demeanor towards customers at OfficeCrap, a characteristic that becomes apparent during his first interaction with Allan. While he initially appears relatively cordial and patient, he quickly turns aggressive when interrupted while working, claiming that "bad shit" is going to happen if he is not allowed to continue his task, even though it is the menial task of stocking shelves with ink cans. When responding to help requests, he uses threats and sarcastic remarks, addressing customers' inquiries with an insincere and confrontational tone.
Despite his aggressive exterior, Armzo is highly sensitive to criticism and has seemingly deluded himself that his attitude is justified. When Allan insulted him and called him an "asshole," he was genuinely shocked that anyone would make such an accusation. His behavior suggests unresolved anger management issues, and it is known that he has previously received psychiatric treatment. The possibility of being sent back to a psychiatric facility seems to be a significant source of anxiety for him, as evidenced by his intense reaction during the confrontation with Allan, which ultimately led to his boss threatening such an action.
Biography[]
Little is known about Armzo's past, except that he had been in a psychiatric facility (possibly multiple times) and works as a shelf-stocker at OfficeCrap.
During the events of "A Allan Adventure," Allan enters OfficeCrap and finds Armzo stocking shelves with ink cans. When Allan inquires about the availability and location of paperclips, Armzo curtly tells him to wait until he finishes his task. As Allan persists, Armzo aggressively warns that "bad shit" will happen if he continues "screwing around." Allan questions Armzo's rude behavior, which prompts Armzo to storm over and demand to know what Allan wants. The two quickly descend into a hostile and petty argument over Armzo's refusal to help and Allan's allegedly irksome behavior. Their commotion attracts Armzo's supervisor, who intervenes, and orders Armzo back to stocking shelves before courteously assisting Allan with his original request.
After helping Allan, the supervisor threatens to send Armzo back to the psych ward if he causes any more trouble, then hastily returns to his desk. As Allan exits the store, Armzo sarcastically thanks him for getting him in trouble. While Allan jeers in response, Armzo becomes distracted while flipping Allan off and accidentally knocks over the entire shelf of ink cans, crushing himself. His ultimate fate is unknown.
