Baldi Baldimore is the titular main protagonist of the comic strip series of the same name.
He is an inventor who lives in the American city of Baltimore, Maryland, and is the husband of Susan Baldimore, and the father of Andrew Baldimore. During his life, Baldi is depicted as a man who likes to break the fourth wall for the reader and eat everything he wants, as well as making sensitive humor. He is also shown to be an inventor who works hard to create things such as an ice machine and a machine that can change faces to be realistic. However, both of his inventions that he creates always fail when tested. Although he is shown to be a failed inventor, he never loses his positive outlook on life and he chooses to live a happy and fulfilling family life with his wife and son.
In his later years, Baldi is shown to be a cheerful and goofy man, and does the same things as before. However, despite being cheerful and goofy, he ends up doing things that are harmful to others.
Appearance[]
Since the comic strip series does not have color, it is difficult to determine Baldi's true appearance. He is depicted as a tall, slender man with long arms, slender fingers, clearly visible black eyes, and thin eyebrows. He has a wide smile on his face and the inside of his mouth is pitch black. He sometimes has teeth and is mostly missing a tongue and throat, but he can still talk. Baldi wears a long-sleeved shirt, pants, and shoes, as well as a teardrop-like nose. Despite being bald and lacking visible ears, he has a single hair and can hear normally.
The only confirmed aspect of his appearance is that he has light skin, as shown in the WarioWare D.I.Y. microgame, Bad Ball. It is also in the microgame that he wears a long blue shirt. However, it is possible that, like his video game counterpart, he has a single orange-brown hair and wears a long green shirt and blue pants, as Mystman12 explained on Twitter that green is more useful than blue.
Personality[]
Baldi's personality is hard to pinpoint, sometimes varying from comic to comic. Throughout the series, he is always shown to be a guy who likes to break the fourth wall and cares deeply for others. Overall, however, he has a rather goofy, odd, and cartoonish personality. His crazy and/or arrogant behavior, in fact, extends to downright sadism in the comics Baldiman and Baldi Hair, where he threatens to cut off a little boy's toes, and goes on a rampage and burns off all of another person's hair because it doesn't grow and is considered unnatural. Despite this, Baldi is generally kind, humble, and easygoing. He is not known for his anger; even towards his enemies, he rarely holds much of an insult or grudge. Threatening his wife seems to be one of the few ways to trigger his aggression. He also has a voracious appetite for food according to the description of the deleted BaldiComic Twitter account.
Baldi is a very emotional character who is quick to laugh, cry, and get angry. While he has a danger-loving, fearless nature and may love a good fight, he prefers to relax inside his house and rarely seeks trouble intentionally. For Timtom's cunning and Susan's affection, Baldi tends to have personal habits such as scratching his head. Baldi is also easily distracted as seen in the Ice Block comic when a baseball was thrown to him by TimTom. He is also quite oblivious to his surroundings, but this could be due to being blind and/or hearing impaired since he was a child. Baldi seems to be somewhat impulsive as shown in the Baldi Cookie, Test Comic, and Baldi Hair; Baldi gets mad at the reader for not giving him all the cookies, barks at someone, who is potentially Susan, and sets fire to all of someone's hair.
Baldi's intelligence level is somewhat ambiguous as he can sometimes be very insensitive or oblivious to his surroundings, and he is often considered stupid or dim-witted. However, this may just be a joke, especially since he is shown to be smart enough to stop others from bothering him and his family or is able to create his sometimes faulty inventions such as an ice machine, a machine to transform into reality, and is implied to be able to manipulate some machines. The things he does that seem stupid can best be attributed to his obvious impulsive nature. His anger never seems to get him into trouble, as Susan can understand him. His sense of right and wrong is also intact, as he helps those in need. It is generally shown that Baldi likes to invent some crazy machines in his spare time such as an ice machine, a machine to transform into reality, and the Jackhammer99.

- Baldi is one of four characters that was created many years ago, specifically between the 2000s and 2010s. The others being Dr. Reflex, his wife Susan, his son Andrew, and his video game counterpart.
- Baldi is one of the three favorite characters from Mystman12. The others being his video game counterpart and Gotta Sweep.
- Mystman12 at first said that Baldi's first internet appearance was in his deleted "BaldiComic" Twitter. However, this was disproven as he was going to his Miiverse archive and found out that Baldi's first internet appearance was actually in his Game & Wario Miiverse sketch post.
- Originally, the four comic strips in the Baldi's Basics series were actually about his video game counterpart when he was a young man, before finally sharing continuity into the original comic series or in other words the comic tie-in game.
- Ironically, the original Baldi's Jackhammer99 has no relation to the number/symbol of 99 in the Baldi's Basics series.
- As of now, it is unknown whether Baldi as Baldiman will be doing heroics or just for fun, as his game counterpart is implied to be doing heroics as a superhero.
