The Beans are the main protagonist species of the music video, Dumb Ways to Die, and its spinoff.

Anatomy[]

Simple-looking, bipedal beings, the Beans have thin arms and legs, a pair of small black oval eyes, and bodies that appear like actual beans. Different colors, sizes, body forms, and personalities are all inherent to them. Some beans even possess ears or hair of their own. Skeleton of Dummkopf Organize The beans' anatomy. They are shown to have bones and organs, best exemplified by the mini-game "Organ-ize" in the original app, when Dunce sells his kidneys, removes his heart to Ninny, and transplants his organs, and Dummkopf turns into a skeleton. Certain beans, such as Hapless, Numskull, and Klaus, demonstrate how their bodies are torn apart as they die, exposing parts of their insides.

Behavior[]

It has been noted that they frequently lack knowledge of the danger, which always brings them dangerously close to death; after that, they will be killed, beaten, or consumed in some other way. Though the entire hospital system was decommissioned in-game, it was partially demonstrated in Dumb Ways to Die 3: World Tour when the ambulance picked them up and cured their ailment or illnesses in the hospital. Nevertheless, they are somehow brought back in the following films or when a new game or level launches.

Although not much is known about their communication, they are known to use language, particularly Ninny's I wonder what this red button does. NPCs conversing in the game series and a segment in the original music video. Otherwise, they typically use simple exclamations or body language to communicate.

Cultures[]

They are sentient beings that live in civilizations, which can be villages, cities, or towns, just like real-world humans. The fact that the show is on railway safety suggests that it has sophisticated rail transit systems, as seen by the frequent appearance of trains, train stations, and railway tracks in the majority of the shows. While the majority of these deaths are caused by the victims' will or negligence, some of these can occasionally result in multiple fatalities.

Ironically, they have other modern technologies despite a whole series that highlights their stupidity. It's well-illustrated that they are familiar with electric appliances, and there are some scenes that suggest their medical facilities, such as when Numpty is sent to an ambulance with a rod of Asclepius marking during the mini-game "Hair Rescue" and Pillock has medicines, albeit antiquated ones. Their reputation for having astrologers is well-established, as evidenced by Numskull's status as an astronaut. Along with a few minigames related to Dumbtune, some of the "Area Fiftydumb" minigames depict the entire Dumbtune universe. The majority of beans, but not all of them, have names that suggest they are foolish, unlucky, dangerous, or irresponsible.
