A variation of Vaal Hazak, Blackveil Vaal Hazak was initially seen in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.
Physiology[]
In terms of appearance, Blackveil Vaal Hazak is comparable to its counterpart. The primary distinction is that it is covered in weird pustules that resemble moss and continuously release Effluvium. It is blinded by these pustules, which even cover its head. However, it can see again if they are broken or deleted. Blackveil is a green and milky-white hue that contrasts with the dark red and silver of ordinary Vaal Hazak.
Abilities and Behavior[]
A passive monster, Blackveil Vaal Hazak only strikes when provoked. Similar to its sibling, it primarily attacks with its Effluvium, but it can also be used to locate prey and infect other monsters. By spreading the moss that grows on its body, it can infect not just monsters but also the region around them, turning the surroundings into its perfect operating space. The presence of a dense green fog of effluvial spores in the air indicates the presence of a Blackveil Vaal Hazak. It appeared that the pustules had transformed its breath from a stream of concentrated effluvium into a gas that resembled smog and could momentarily stick to the ground.
