Bookworm is a minor antagonist in Toy Story 3.
He is a green toy worm with a built-in flashlight who wears glasses, a wing top and a small purple relaxed fit shirt jacket, and is one of Lotso's former minions.
He was voiced by Richard Kind.
Why aren't they heroic or villainous?[]
- Despite being a member of Lotso's Gang, he does nothing remotely evil since all he does is give Lotso and later "Spacesuit Ken" the instruction manual for Buzz Lightyear, meaning that he cannot count as a villain and is at most a jerk.
Biography[]
Bookworm keeps a library of instruction manuals in a closet at Sunnyside, and gives Lotso the instruction manual for Buzz Lightyear. This allows Lotso to make Buzz one of his cohorts.
Later, he gives the same manual to "Spacesuit Ken" (who is in actuality Barbie in disguise), reacting with disgust upon discovers that "Ken" is actually wearing pink high heels.
Following Lotso's removal from power, it is implied that Bookworm was convinced of Lotso's treachery, so he reforms, as with the case of the other members of Lotso's Gang. During the credits, he is seen happily using his flashlight to light a disco ball in the Butterfly Room during a party at Sunnyside.

- He resembles the cartoon 2D bookworms.
- It is unknown how he understood Barbie about the Buzz Lightyear manual due to her being in Ken's astronaut helmet.
- His glasses represent him being slightly old.
- Lotso seems to disapprove, if not dislike, Bookworm. This can be seen when Bookwork tosses Buzz Lightyear's manual at Lotso's feet, Lotso gives him a somewhat disapproving glance. This may also imply that Bookworm does not enjoy being part of Lotso's Gang.
