~ Captain Rum

Captain Redbeard Rum was a minor protagonist from Blackadder II. His first and only appearance was the third episode: "Potato".

He was portrayed by Tom Baker.

Biography[]

Captain Rum was a sea captain who at some point in his life lost both his legs to a falling sail. Blackadder hires him to make a journey around the cape of good hope to secure a marriage to the queen. He then comes to visit the queen and takes a liking to Nursie. He and Blackadder, Percy and Baldrick set sail for what most of them think is the cape of good hope, but what Blackadder really intends to do is go to France. Rum then admits that he doesn't know how to get to the cape of good hope anyway unfortunately the next day he says does not know the way to France either. 2 years later they arrive at what Rum thinks is England but is instead an Island of Cannibals that eat Captain Rum. Back home, Nursie was devastated by the news of Rums death However The boys did save Rum's beard and gave to her as a memento.

Personality[]

Rum is Mad a he seems like as nice guy but is obvisly insane. Dispite this he is a loyal friend when Blackadder needs him.
