Neutral characters that either faked their own tragedy, or had a genuinely tragic past but do non't truly qualify as tragic for various reasons, such as:

  • Characters who have "Tragedies" as very petty excuses for their behavior and actions.
  • Characters who put their own misery onto themselves, while blaming their own misery on someone or everyone else.
  • Characters who feel unloved or unappreciated, but are unsympathetic due to their actions and/or personalities.
  • Characters who experienced genuine tragedies, but exaggerate how badly it affected them to make terrible excuses for their behavior and their actions, or are no longer affected by their said tragedy.
  • Characters in who's excuse that sounds good enough, only for no in-universal proof if it ever happened or if it's completely made up and never even happened.
  • Characters who were already mean and cruel to begin with even before experiencing any form of trauma regardless if it was genuine or not, thus making their tragedy being prevented from being a legitimate Freudian excuse to begin with

Mere speculations or implications of a tragic past are not enough to qualify characters for this category; Characters must have an established backstory in which must come from an official and trustworthy source.

Note:[]

  • This category is different from Tragic Characters as the category is for Neutral Characters who have sympathetic backstory that still hold up despite their actions or behavior, while the Fake Tragic category is for Neutral Characters whose backstories that are either completely faked or have nothing to do with their behavior nor their actions.
