The Ceadeus are a species that appears in the fantasy videogame, Monster Hunter 3, as the overarching antagonist. They are huge, aquatic Elder Dragons, renowned for their elusiveness and association with bountiful harvests of fish. The individual fought in-game is blighted with an oversized horn, which it attempts to grind down into an acceptable size by rubbing itself against nearby islands. Thus, in order to ease the monster’s pain and stop it from producing earthquakes, the hunter is sent to cut off the Ceadeus’s oversized horn.
Physiology[]
Ceadeus has a face akin to Dunkleosteus and resembles a gigantic whale. It possesses two enormous horns that grow continuously and eventually cover the creature's eyes, causing blindness, and a noticeable furry beard. The monster has glowing organs along its underbelly and upper jaw, which change color from blue to red in moments of wrath.
Abilities[]
Ceadeus can produce earthquakes by banging its horns into the walls of the tunnels it lives in, and it is strong enough to shatter big walls apart and force rubble to fall from them. It may also act as a strong beam, taking in and then spewing massive amounts of water from its mouth. Ceadeus may also cause Dragonblight in Monster Hunter 3 by using specific physical strikes.
Behaviour[]
It is believed that, until provoked, the Ceadeus is a rather calm species. They don't disturb people unless they perceive a threat. Because their horns ultimately grow over their eyes, causing agony, they are known to periodically grind or slam them against walls or the sea bottom.
Habitat[]
It cannot go on land; it lives in a network of submerged caverns and ruins located far beneath Moga Island.
