Chick Hicks' father is a minor antagonist in the Cars comic book series by Boom!Studios, appearing in the "Rally Race" arc. In the past, he was verbally abusive to his son, telling him that he should win at any cost and leading Chick to become the selfish cheater he is today.

One day, Chick's father was chewing his son out for helping an injured car at the cost of his own victory. While Chick tried to justify this by saying he needed help, his father retorted that, as members of a "family of winners", they had no time to "coddle losers", and told Chick to win at all costs. His words stuck to his son, who begrudgingly agreed.
Rally Race[]
Many years later, during a race in Radiator Springs, Chick Hicks caused a car crash and was called out by Lightning, who questioned his rival on why he acted this way. This caused Chick to have a flashback to the time his father told him to win at all costs, an advice which he repeated after his crew chief snapped him out of the daydream.
