The Conga is a monster species that appears in the science fantasy video game Monster Hunter 2. They are primate-like Fanged Beasts that dwell in tropical regions, constantly searching for food. Their territorial dispositions and notoriety for farting on people means that the Guild must occasionally send hunters to clean up packs of troublemakers that may stalk the wilds.

Physiology[]
Congas are monsters that resemble pink gorillas with tails. They have clawed, four-fingered hands, grey skin and hippo-like faces. Congas have a green patch of fur on their heads and near their hands.
Abilities[]
Despite being fairly weak, Conga can pose a threat to civilians thanks to their sharp claws and muscular physique. They are most notorious for their volatile farts, which, aside from smelling absolutely rancid, cause debilitating throat irritation that prevents hunters from ingesting potions or other field supplies. Like all social monsters, Conga are capable of mobbing their targets, making them somewhat dangerous in groups.
Behavior[]
Omnivorous and gluttonous beasts, Conga prowl their rainforest homes in a constant search for food, devouring anything they can get their hands upon. They aren't especially picky but favour mushrooms above all other food sources, gorging themselves on the fungi whenever possible. As rather weak monsters, Conga prefer not to get into fights, instead standing up on their hind legs to scare away predators and using their farts as a last resort. They will also form groups for safety, herding around their alpha, a Congalala. These groups don't actually cooperate during battle, instead only serving to increase the efficiency of foraging and to scare away predators that may be seeking an easy meal.
Habitat[]
The Conga live in tropical regions such as the Kumbel Wetlands, Sunken Hollow, Everwood, Primal Forest, Jungle, and Swamp.
