Monster Hunter World: Iceborne introduced the Coral Pukei-Pukei, a Bird Wyvern and a subspecies of Pukei-Pukei.
Physiology[]
The majority of the traits of Pukei-Pukei are still present in Coral Pukei-Pukei. Coral Pukei-Pukei, on the other hand, has bright orange coloring on its face, foot, and claws on its front wings. When it gets angry, these turn crimson. Its underbelly and tail tip are violet, while the remainder of its body has a pinkish-red tinge.
Abilities and Behavior[]
The Coral Pukei-Pukei attacks mostly with water, whereas the Pukei-Pukei uses poison. By consuming the sponge-like plants found in the Coral Highlands, the Coral Pukei-Pukei is able to store large amounts of water in its tail. It can then launch jets of highly pressure water beams at hunters as a result. By consuming a variety of plants, it can also accomplish this via its mouth. Additionally, it has the ability to shoot water balls from its mouth in globs at predators. Coral Pukei-Pukei attacks with greater aggression than Pukei-Pukei. When assaulting hunters, it is also demonstrated to be significantly more adept at using its tail than Pukei-Pukei.
