Darla Sherman is the secondary antagonist of Pixar’s 5th full-length animated feature Finding Nemo.

Biography

She is the niece of dentist Philip Sherman. Darla is described as a fish killer by Gill and the other fish in Sherman's aquarium, and Nemo is supposed to be her new pet fish. She "killed" the last fish she got, Chuckles, by continuing to shake the bag that Chuckles was in. The Tank Gang prepare to help Nemo return to the ocean while racing against time since Darla's scheduled visit is coming up in a few days. On the day Darla arrives for her appointment, Nemo pretends to be dead when Darla is about to take him from her uncle, but she mistakenly believes he is just sleeping and begins shaking the bag. She drops Nemo as a result, and his bag pops, as Gill then fires himself out of the tank and lands in her hair.

Darla tries to grab Nemo after Gill launches him into the air, but he lands in a sink and is sucked into a drain that leads to a sewer. Darla then yells "FISHY!" as she peers down the drain, accidentally breaking the sink.

Appearance

According to Philip in the movie and Pixarpedia, Darla Sherman is a diminutive 8-year-old with fair skin, red hair in pigtails, green eyes, braces with headgear, a purple long-sleeved shirt with white and pink sparkling letters that read "Rock n Roll Girl," a yellow skirt with dark brown plaid, white socks, and black Mary Jane shoes. Darla Sherman is also short. Darla was seen sporting teal long sleeves and pink overalls with white buttons in the dental office photo.
