Darren Walsh is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Larry Mack) of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, and is also the overarching antagonist its live-action and animated film adaptions. He is known for being the first "victim" of the Cheese Touch, a game that is played in Greg Heffley's middle school where whoever touches the cheese is infected until they pass it on to someone else, otherwise they will be stuck with it forever.
In the 2010 film, he is portrayed by Harrison Houde.
Biography[]
In the book, he is seen chasing the other kids with his finger that has the Cheese Touch on it, he is clearly enjoying it as he is the one who started it. In the film however, he is not enjoying it as he did not want to be seen as the first victim of the Cheese Touch when a girl notices that he touched it when it was sitting on the blacktop, making them scream and run away.
Later, he manages to pass it around to another student, causing everyone to run away again. It is then passed throughout the school via various students, and eventually to one kid who was a foreign exchange. He was not aware of the Cheese Touch, and soonly after moved away, and took the Cheese Touch with him. Because of that, the cheese Touch has not been touched by anyone and instead just sat on the blacktop for a very long time, waiting for someone to touch it again.
He is briefly seen in the animated film in one scene, where Rodrick explains the Cheese Touch to Greg, where he touches the cheese and passes it to another student.
