Dennis is the main antagonist of the Thomas & Friends episode: "Thomas's Day Off". He was a lazy diesel who does not like doing any sort of work.
In the UK Dub he was voiced by the late Michael Angelis and by Michael Brandon in the US Dub.
Why isn't He heroic or villainous?[]
- While he does nothing villainous, his work ethic is appalling and he does not want to work as he keeps trying to get Thomas to do his work for him.
Biography[]
Dennis was taken to the island in autumn. He was first seen "trying" to shunt some trucks with tiles in them But having "trouble" in doing so. When Thomas saw him be decided to help Dennis much to the delight of Dennis. Dennis later asked Thomas to help him get to the school Thomas did help him but Dennis had hoped that Thomas would take the trucks for him so Dennis blasted his horn to get Thomas's attention. He then Told Thomas that he "over heated" saying he had to do Dennis's job. Unfortunately for him Thomas chose to get another Engine to take Dennis's Trucks Instead of doing himself. When Thomas was out of sight, he ran away from the trucks to get away from his work, only to derail and being left with only the option to call for help again. When Thomas found him, Dennis admitted that he lied to Thomas. While Thomas was not happy that Dennis had tricked him, he did help him get back on the rails and help him get the tiles to the school. He later thanked Thomas for showing him it was better for him to work hard.
Appearance[]
Dennis is based on the BR 11001 prototype. He is grey with a Red Buffer Beam and the number 11001 on his side.
Personality[]
In his debut appearance Dennis is shown as lazy and unreliable. He is a lethargic and slothful engine who would rather have others do his work for him. While he says he learned his lesion by the end of Thomas's day off, he never appears in another major role so it is unknown if Dennis did change or not due to no further important roles.
Trivia[]
- He has the same number on his side as the real BR 11001 prototype.
- While it is said he is the twin brother of Norman it is impossible for both to exist at the same time because only one of their basis was built. Due to this inconsistency it could indorse the head cannon that the model and CGI series are sperate continuities.
