Diablos are a species that are from the science fantasy videogame Monster Hunter. They are a species of massive Flying Wyvern that unusually for their group, are herbivores, snacking on cacti that grow in their desert homes. Despite this, Diablos are notoriously bad-tempered and powerful, making them urgent targets for any hunter to take down.
Physiology[]
The Diablos is a massive Flying Wyvern measuring 30.03m at maximum, being covered in thick, sandy brown scutes. Its head is frilled like a ceratopsian's, possessing two huge, curved horns above its tiny crimson eyes. It also possesses two long tusks on the sides of its upper jaw and another pair at the front of its lower one. The Diablos's tail ends in two studded lobes which function like a club. Overall, the Diablos has an incredibly well muscled and sturdy build, possessing thick stocky legs and equally muscular wings.
Abilities[]
Diablos can move underground and burrow into the ground. They use this power to sneak up on unsuspecting enemies or escape harmful situations. Furthermore, they have the ability to roar loudly enough to shock most aggressors. In order to maximize damage potential, Diablos may sprint at great speeds and charge enemies with their horns, utilizing their powerful legs in conjunction with their massive upper body and head.
Behavior[]
Diablos are herbivores that are commonly seen in deserts where cacti are abundant. They will, nonetheless, chase anything that enters their domain since they are very territorial and violent. Diablos are known to use their horns as weapons against intruders, but they will also use them to defend their territory or claim the right to mate. Diablos are generally not good at flying for transporting purposes since their disproportionately large bulk makes it difficult for them to fly for extended periods of time. When stuck in the sand, Diablos will instead utilize their wings to escape.
Habitat[]
Diablos are typically seen in arid, dry desert climates. They can dig in the soft, loose dirt, and the cacti that are abundant in water supply them with food and drink. On the other hand, Diablos is also present in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate at Everwood and the Deserted Island.
