Field Marshall Douglas Haig was the overarching protagonist of Blackadder Goes Forth. He made is appearance in the final episode: "Goodbyeee". He is based on the historical figure of the same name.
He was portrayed by the late Geoffrey Palmer.
Biography[]
He is mentioned many times during the series but is never seen or heard from until the final episode. Were he gets a call from Edmund Blackadder saying that he doesn't want to go over the top in the big push however Haig says to do put two pencils up his nose and a pair of underpants on his head which unbeknownst to him Edmund had already tried.
Personality[]
He seem to be a far more professional and rational then General Melchett. He is also known to be a man of his word.
