Monster Hunter World: Iceborne introduced the Ebony Odogaron, a fanged Wyvern and a subspecies of Odogaron.
Physiology[]
The Ebony Odogaron has scales and bone-like protrusions that simulate muscular tissues covering its entire body, just like its normal cousin. However, the term "Ebony" comes from the intense blue and jet black coloring of these scales and protrusions. In addition to being serrated, its claws are more blood crimson in color than those of an ordinary Odogaron. Similar to Savage Deviljho, which possesses dragon element qualities, the Ebony Odogaron has flaming red eyes and a mouth that spews black smoke.
Abilities and Behavior[]
An aggressive animal, the Ebony Odogaron is constantly searching for its next meal. In order to sustain itself and enhance its skills when required, it keeps its most recent kill in its mouth.
Like its normal cousin, the Ebony Odogaron fights with great accuracy, which makes it a formidable foe. In order to attack its opponent, it will swipe with its tail and claws and search for opportunities to bite them with its strong jaws. However, because it is an evolved individual with unique characteristics, it also possesses new skills that are not found in a normal Odogaron. It can even use the smoke it produces from its mouth to give its opponents Dragonblight. When attacking its enemies, it will also spit pieces of flesh that it has been consuming, giving the flesh a dragon aspect that will provide Dragonblight damage to the enemy.
The Ebony Odogaron is more likely to assault even its normal counterpart due to its more aggressive temperament. It was seen throwing its carcass into the Rotten Vale after killing a typical Odogaron in the Coral Highlands.
