Edith is the tritagonist of the 2017 film adaptaion of the Captain Underpants franchise, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, despite her more minor role. She’s the lunch lady for Jerome Horwitz Elementary School and the love interest to Principal Benjamin Krupp.
Why aren't they heroic or villainous?[]
- She doesn't really do anything heroic or villainous, she is just a nice woman who later becomes Mr. Krupp's love interest and girlfriend.
Appearance[]
Edith is a fair-skinned, slightly overweight woman with short dark brown hair, freckles and blue eyes. She wears a red polka dot dress, white apron, yellow rubber gloves, white socks and red Mary Janes.
Biography[]
Edith is the quiet lunch lady who has a huge secret crush on Principal Benjamin Krupp. When Edith sends Krupp a tuna casserole with his name on it, he’s agitated and stammers out that he has a school that needs to be run before racing back into his office. Edith walks away with her casserole, upset and Krupp returns, sprinting after her for the casserole after apparently realizing he forgot it.
She later inquires whether Krupp enjoyed her casserole; unbeknownst to her, Mr. Krupp had been hypnotized into the comic book character Captain Underpants using the 3-D Hypno Ring. While he admits he has no recollection of eating the casserole, he also complements her on her eyes, which causes her to blush.
Later, she’s seen tossing leftovers into an envenomed metallic barrel, which Professer Poopypants and Melvin Sneedly use to power the Turbo Toilet 2000 (and which also provides Captain Underpants with genuine superpowers).
Finally, owing to George Beard and Harold Hutchins' good deed, she ends up going on a date with Krupp. Unfortunately for them, The Talking Toilets attack the restaurant where they are eating. Mr. Krupp accidently transforms into Captain Underpants, making Edith admire him even more as he rushes off to save the day.

- According to the artbook, Edith was supposed to be a pest who would appear at random times when Krupp was around. This was then scrapped and she was changed into Krupp's love interest.
- Because they have the same first name, many fans assumed she was the film's Miss Anthrope prior to its release.
- Despite the fact that she wasn’t conceived by him, Dav Pilkey declared her birthday to be on February 14th, Valentine's Day (due to a fan who suggested the idea to him).
- She’s absent from The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, most likely because the series is based on the novels rather than the film. She does, however, appear as a Christmas caroler in The Xtreme Xploits of the Xplosive Xmas.
- Edith is the only character who has different colored eyes.
