Ephraim Winslow is a character in the 2019 mystery horror film, The Lighthouse. He was the former boss of Thomas Howard and a strict man that was eventually killed by Thomas due to frequents insults towards him. Ephraim Winslow’s name and identity would then be taken over by Thomas.
Appearance[]
Ephraim Winslow was a middle aged Englishman with fair skin, a short crop of blond hair, blue eyes, and also had a rough looking mustache.
He wore an old-style button up shirt with a jacket over it.
Personality[]
As told by Thomas Howard, Ephraim Winslow was described as being a strict and foulmouthed man, who had a knack for harshly criticizing Thomas when he made mistakes.
Story[]
Background[]
Ephraim Winslow was born and raised in Great Britain, he would in his later life become a logging foreman and undertake Thomas Howard as his worker.
Winslow was considerably strict on Thomas when he made mistakes, causing his employee to become increasingly resentful towards him. It reached a boiling point when on one day, Thomas sneaked up behind Winslow during a regular logging jam session and hit him on the back of his head out of rage. Winslow fell into the water and angrily called Thomas a “dog”, he then sank deeper and was unable to come back up due to the logs blocking most of the surface, thus, Winslow drowned.
Thomas, knowing that he just committed murder, decided to steal Ephraim Winslow’s identity and name in order to start over again with a clean conscious.
The Lighthouse[]
When Thomas Howard, who now calls himself Ephraim Winslow became a lighthouse keeper, strange hallucinatory events surrounding the murder he committed ensued. He was seen walking outside in the dark and encountered numerous mysterious logs on the shore, which is then follow up with Ephraim Winslow’s corpse being revealed to him.
