Epioth are herbivores introduced in Monster Hunter 3.
Why aren't they heroic or villainous?[]
- It is because they are very docile and when one is attacked, the rest flee.
Physiology[]
Fish-like is the epioth's appearance. They have four flippers, each with spines around the end and a little nub on the tip. In the center of their back are two medium-sized fins. They feature two tiny spikes immediately above and below each fin on their fish-shaped tails. The upper half of the epioth's body is green, while its necks and bellies are white. Their flanks, flippers, and fins all have orange accents.
Behavior[]
Due to their extreme timidity, they will typically run away from an attack. On occasion, though, they will retaliate with tail slaps and slams. These, on the other hand, are weak and readily defeated. They will move about underwater and surface from time to time. Only sometimes do they pause, giving hunters the opportunity to strike.
Habitat[]
In the underwater sections of the Flooded Forest and the ocean off the Deserted Island (Areas 10 and 11), they swim in small groups.
