Wow. I hope I get rich someday so I can ride in an airship.
~ Faye upon seeing the airship in the sky.

She was the younger sister of Grisha Yeager who lived with him and her parents in the Marleyan city Liberio’s Eldian internment Zone. Her death caused by a Marleyan Security soldier serves as an emotional catalyst for Grisha, shaping his motivations in the series.

Why aren't they heroic or villainous?[]

Apearance[]

Faye was a small 8-year-old girl who had rough medium long brown hair that waved to her shoulders. She had large grey eyes with thin eyebrows.

She wore a dress red dress with a grey trench coat over it, as well as having a thin white scarf tugged around her neck. While she was outside, Faye wore the standard Eldian armband.

Personality[]

Faye appeared to be an innocent young girl with a playful and carefree demeanor. She had a close bond with her older brother, Grisha, and cherished their time together. She often depended on her older brother too help her deal with the cruelties of the world, which she was to innocent for to withstand on her own.

Story[]

Background[]

Faye Yeager was born on November 24rd in the year 809, within Liberio’s Eldian internment zone, which was a city in Marley. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Yeager and had a 3 year older brother, Grisha Yeager. Being an Eldian, Faye would from a young age face discrimination from the general Marleyan population and would be forced to live a restricted life inside the internment zone, only being able to be let out on rare occasions such as bt using an exit permit.

One day, in the year 817, Faye and Grisha notice that an airship is flying over their city, so they decide to quickly leave their house in order to follow where it’s going. Faye and Grisha are both stopped by their mother who reminds them to always put on their armbands when going outside. She also tells Grisha that they cannot go outside the Walls. Faye and Grisha leave say their goodbyes. They follow the airship and Grisha explains that only someone who’s rich are allowed to fly those vehicles. As it passes over the internment zone, Faye states that she wishes to fly in it herself when she’s rich one day. Grisha, however, reminds her that it’s impossible for them to ever be rich. Although Faye understands, she still fantasizes of what she can see from up there. The airship has now left Faye and Grisha’s plane of view, which disappoints them, as what’s in front of them is the entrance to the zone meaning that they aren’t allowed to go any further. But Grisha suddenly grabs Faye’s hand and starts running with her. He tells her that they can still see the airship once it has landed, which is in the riverbanks outside the zone. Faye is initially not fond of this, as their mother firmly told them to never just go outside of the walled region. Grisha naively states that it isn’t such a big deal, and they will be quickly back anyway. They pass the checkpoint and are then chased by officers from the Public Security, but they are able to evade them.

Faye and Grisha make their way deep into the “Marleyan” part of Liberio, while being noticeably more tense. They are both rudely pushed out of the way by a Marleyan man, with him and his friend being irritated to see Eldians “crawling around” their streets.

Faye and Grisha keep walking forwards and reach the riverbanks. They both watch the airship, which has now arrived on its landing base. Faye is especially amazed by the sheer size of the structure, looking at it in awe. Suddenly, a Public Security officer who slacks off on the riverbank with his companion calls out for the two of them. He notices that they are from the internment zone and asks them to show him their exit permits. Grisha nervously tells him that they haven’t got one, with Faye cowering behind him. Knowing that they entered the city without any authorization results in the man asking Grisha if they want labor or a beating as punishment. Grisha chooses a beating which frightens her sister. The boy tells the officer that he dragged his sister to come here with him, so he wants to take her punishment as well, which the officer agrees on. The officer then harshly kicks Grisha in his stomach, causing Faye to start crying. The officer’s accomplice tells them that he will bring the girl back home, resulting in Faye following the man while Grisha continues to be beat up.

Faye is taken somewhere near an industrial site of the city on the edge of the riverbank. She is assumably told to stay on her spot while the man goes to get his 3 sons and his dogs to Faye. The sons are told by their father to force their dogs to begin mauling down Faye. As the man believes that it is necessary for his sons to understand and face the cruelty of the real world, while using that mindset as a way to commit crimes against the Eldians who he despises. Faye is mercilessly bitten to death by the dogs and her corpse would be found the next day. Fay’s killer and the man who beat up Grisha are present at the Yeager residence and the killer gives an “explanation” to Mr. Yeager, Mrs. Yeager, and Grisha about what happened. He lies and tells that he left the girl at the entrance of the zone and then went back to work. He also badmouths Grisha and believes that Eldian children shouldn’t just be running around where they please. Grisha and his mother are left devasted by what happened, but the father represses his sorrow and tells the officers that he will properly educate and discipline his “foolish” son.

Mr. Yeager retells Grisha the history of the Eldian empire and it’s atrocities on the world, while he does this hoping that Grisha will gain perspective for the Marleyans and never step out of line again, Grisha isn’t concerned by it claiming that the man was lying and is responsible for Faye’s death. But this only causes Mr. Yeager to become much more forceful with his son, stating that their ancestors were heinous criminals. Grisha lashes out and says that he and Faye never did anything wrong. His father responds that in the eyes of the “victims”, whether or not you committed any crimes is irrelevant, and without any power to themselves it is much safer to simply leader “simple, quiet, modest lives”. Mr. Yeager ends the discussion with him begging Grisha to not let them befall the same fate as to what happened to Faye, which Grisha agrees upon.

7 years later in the year 824, Grisha who now became a doctor like his father, was approached by man with an x marked scar on his arm. He states that he knows the truth about Faye’s death and that he will explain it to him if he becomes a part of their rebellious movement. Grisha fellows him to their hideout and when he learns the truth of his sister’s death, he tearfully swears that he will take vengeance on Marley and “show them who the true devils are”.
