In Monster Hunter Frontier Season 2.5, a new subspecies of Espinas called Flaming Espinas was introduced.
Physiology[]
The brown carapace of Flaming Espinas is adorned with red horns, claws, and spines. It has bright orange veins all over its body when it is angry. Other than that, it is the same as the typical Espinas.
Abilities and Behavior[]
Compared to the normal Espinas, Flaming Espinas can produce larger and more potent bursts of fire and is more resilient to injury. Its breath now contains a strong acid that can dissolve their prey's armor rather than paralyzing them. The capacity of Flaming Espinas to charge their breath attack and then release it in a single burst, resulting in a tremendous flame explosion that scatters toxic clouds, is their most notable talent.
It is a submissive and passive wyvern that will only attack when provoked, much like the common Espinas. It is typically found sleeping for a large portion of the day. This creature is strong enough to confront and even defeat Elder Dragons like the Teostra, much like the typical Espinas.
Habitat[]
It is known that Flaming Espinas lives alone at the very top of the Tower and Forlorn Arena (MHRS). It is also present at the Great Forest Peak, the Citadel, and the Gorge.
