"Freaky" Fred, or simply Fred is a minor antagonist in the TV animated series Courage the Cowardly Dog.
He is the nephew of Muriel Bagge and he is a deranged barber who shaves Courage in the episode of the same name.
He was voiced by Paul Schoeffler, who also voiced many other characters in the same series.
Why isn't he heroic or villainous?[]
- He isn't genuinely ill intentioned and likely doesn't know he's making Courage uncomfortable.
- He doesn't do any genuine harm apart from shaving people or animals.
Biography[]
Freaky Fred is Muriel's nephew, a barber from Courage the Cowardly Dog with a psychological compulsion (trichotillomania) to shave hair and fur bald, which he describes as being "naughty". Institutionalized for his behavior after shaving his own girlfriend, he is sent to the "Home for Freaky Barbers" before visiting Muriel, where he tries to shave Courage. He speaks in poems and rhymes, providing narration for the audi.
