Fred is a minor character from the movie, Cars.
Biography[]
While Lightning McQueen "knows his name" even since it is printed on his license plate, Fred is seen in the Rust-eze tent at the Motor Speedway of the South in the movie Cars, and he seems thrilled about it. He loses control of his front bumper due to excitement. At the Los Angeles International Speedway, Mario Andretti experiences a similar scenario. When he states his name, he becomes even more ecstatic and exclaims to a security agent, "Mario Andretti knows my name!" when the police deny him entry because he lacks a garage pass. Fred thinks it's alright as Lightning is acquainted with him. Fred is seen bouncing up and down Radiator Springs' main road at the end of the movie. He has several decals from Lizzie's Radiator Springs Curios shop stuck to him, and his bumper keeps falling off.
Physical Description[]
With his own name "FRED" printed on his license plate, Fred drives a Stodgey Suaver ST. Due to severe corrosion, his peak speed is about 30 mph (49 km/h). He may have about 100 horsepower (74 kW). Despite being entirely coated in rust, Fred's original livery paint seems to be blue, and he occasionally has trouble keeping components on. There is some noticeable green and white paint on his front bumper and the rest.
Personality[]
Fred gets thrilled quickly, which is why his bumper frequently comes off or he shakes so much that a lot of rust comes off of him when he gets enthusiastic. Fred is really excited and yells, "He knows my name!" whenever someone checks his license plate and mentions his name.
