My mother doted upon my younger brother… and to ensure that he took the throne… she poisoned me when I was six.
~ Ganishka thinking back about how he was almost assassinated, and how it led up to him killing his younger brother.

Ganishka’s Brother is a minor and brief character in the dark fantasy manga series, Berserk. He was a young former prince from the Kushan Empire and the younger brother of Ganishka. After his mother attempted to assassinate Ganishka so his little brother could get the throne, would then be killed by Ganishka in his sleep.

Appearance[]

He appeared to be a young boy whose more detailed descriptions remained hidden due to him having been presented in a silhouette-type artstyle. But he was nonetheless of a small height and had typical child-like petite features. Being of Kushan origin, he would also generally have the appearance of a child from the South Asian ethnic group, (Indian to be more specific).

Because the boy was member of the Kushan monarchy, he wore wealthy child-sized clothing, such as royal garments and a luxurious turban with a gemstone on it.

Personality[]

Not much is known about his personality, but he appeared to be a typically innocent child that was guiltless to all the backstabbing interplay which happened within the Kushan royalty.

Story[]

Past[]

This boy was born into the Kushan royal family, being the second son of the king and had one older brother named, Ganishka. He apparently had a very strong bond with his mother, to the point where she attempted to assassinate Ganishka with poisoned wine in order for his younger brother to take the throne. During the assassination attempt, the young boy looked innocently to his older brother, being unaware as to what was going on. But Ganishka survived, and while his younger brother was asleep in his bed. Ganishka put a knife in his chest, killing him. The boy’s corpse would later be found by his mother, who then killed herself out of grief by jumping off the balcony.

Falcon of the Millennium Empire Arc[]

Many years later, Ganishka has turned himself into an enormous monstrosity so he could hope to battle against Griffith and the God Hand. He starts reflecting back on his past, where he recalled the time where he killed his little brother as one of the many reminders that life to him is nothing more than pure darkness.
