The Garangolm is a Fanged Beast first introduced in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
Appearance[]
Garangolms are enormous, fanged creatures that resemble gorillas. The thick, rigid shell that covers the dorsal side and protects the head forms a large crown and chin plate. The shell is green and brown. The thick, long tail of the garangolm ends in prongs, which is an oddity.
Abilities[]
In addition to its remarkable strength and hard physique, garangolms release a sap-like substance from their bodies that encourages the growth of plants. As a result, different plants spread throughout its body. Additionally, it can harden its body or the surrounding soil with the sap it releases. It has been known to regularly cover its arms with lava and moss. It employs the weapons for various objectives. It digs and scrapes grass and fish using its left arm. Its back gets cleaned of dirt and debris using its right arm.
When furious, Garangolm will plunge its arms into the ground to create gauntlet-like masses. Its left arm will be covered in water-dripping mossy growths that cause Waterblight and Fireblight, respectively, while its right arm will be covered in semi-molten rock. In addition to sending Garangolm skyward, the right arm explosion can occasionally produce blast clouds. It will cover both arms with more molten rock and moss, and it will also get some on its face, whenever its health falls below a certain point. It acquires a few additional attacks at this period, such as the capacity to launch hunters aloft with a head swing and then trigger a steam explosion in front of itself.
Behavior[]
The Garangolm are calm and peaceful animals that are typically observed napping or moving about their range. But if it is assaulted or provoked, it will become aggressive. Garangolm grows stronger the more enraged it gets. Until the enemy dies or its anger is subdued, it will not stop. Turf Wars are frequently the result of Garangolm having to contend with strong monsters like Lunagaron for territories.
Habitat[]
Although it can be seen wandering in the Flooded Forest, Garangolm is primarily found in the wetlands around Elgado's Citadel.
