He was never found again. But many a work man will tell you when the moon is full, they have seen the little engine trying to get home but he never reaches the other side.

~ Rusty on the Ghost Engine
The Ghost Engine is a posthumous character from Thomas & Friends. He was a narrow gage engine who fell off the iron bridge.
He lacks any real personality, and is possibly not even real in-universe.
Biography[]
Many years before the events of the series, The Ghost Engine worked for a brief time on the Skarloey Railway. He would later cross the iron bridge to get home but would lose control and fell in the water below. He was never retrieved from the site but some people say they can see him moving across the bridge but never getting to the other side.
