The Gigginox are a species that are from the science fantasy videogame, Monster Hunter 3.
Physiology[]
Gigginox and Khezu are similar in that they are blind wyverns who live in caves. Gigginox, however, uses a unique organ to feel its prey's body heat rather than its sense of smell.
In contrast to Khezu, which is heavy and has substantial fat stores, Gigginox is broad and flat. In addition, Gigginox's skin is not very moisturized, and in contrast to Khezu, it is vein-free. Because of its flat form and ability to feel body heat instead of scent, Gigginox is noticeably quicker and more nimble than Khezu. They can also flip around with ease. Although Khezu mostly utilizes its developed hind legs to jump around or cling to cave ceilings, Gigginox propels itself using four limbs in addition to its tail, indicating that its limbs are not as developed as those of Khezu.
Similar to Khezu, Gigginox may extend their neck and tail to double their length in an effort to combat predators. Their underside is dark red, and their upper skin is grey-white. A Gigginox's top color will turn a deeper shade of grey, almost black, as it becomes agitated. Their insignia on their head, tail, and breast are white, but they may break off the eye-like portions that light purple when they are in dark environments. Gigginox's mouth is round and like a leech, and it is full of sharp fangs.
Abilities[]
Like Khezu, Gigginox may be fastened to cave ceilings. When in this posture, it may launch a special assault in which it drags the hunter beneath itself, descends, and gradually consumes the victim—that is, unless the victim is set free on their own or with help from other hunters. This attack will end promptly with a Dung Bomb.
It has the ability to spew poison or expel it as a gas through pores in its body. Giggi Sacs are gelatinous globs that Gigginox may lay and they can hatch baby Giggis. But it can also release purple globs that, in a matter of seconds, explode into deadly clouds; these might fool those who aren't familiar with Gigginox into attacking them instead. Because Giggi Sacs take longer to develop, seasoned hunters are able to predict which variety will emerge first.
Habitat[]
Gigginox is primarily found in caves and is said to reside in the tundra.
