~ Grace comforting her son and Little Jim. |
Grace TheCat, also known as Petey's Mother, is one of the three overarching protagonists (alongside Officer Knight and Greg the Dog) of the Dog Man franchise.
She is the protective and supportive deceased mother of Petey TheCat, mother figure of Little Jim, and the ex-wife of Mr. "Grampa" TheCat.
History[]
As a young adult, Grace would meet and marry Mr. TheCat, and together the two of them would have a son, Petey. However, for unknown reasons, Mr. TheCat became selfish and abusive to Grace and Petey, even presumably cutting off Petey's tail and making it have a flat tip instead of a round tip, like the majority of other felines.
After the events of Petey and his tail, Grace and Mr. TheCat would eventually divorce, leaving Mr. TheCat with most of the money, food, and even the house, while Grace still had to take care of Petey. Because of this, Grace and Petey were forced to move into Happy Home Shelter in Bedford Falls. There, Grace and Petey would meet "Little" Jim, who was forced to move after his parents tragically died in a car crash. Because of this, Grace would accept Little Jim for who he is and be his mother figure.
At one point in her life, Grace would fall ill and unfortunately pass away. Because of this, his father's betrayal, and an incident with the Critter Scouts, Petey would eventually become a villain before creating a kitten clone named Li'l Petey, who would help redeem himself. According to Petey, Grace's love is within Li'l Petey.
Appearance[]
Grace resembles that of a calico cat without the black spots, which are replaced with white spots. However, her left ear is still black.
Personality[]
“ | We arrived with almost nothing, and things were pretty tough. We didn't have much money or food, but my mom was always hopeful. It was hard on both of us, and I didn't always handle it very well. But my mother always forgave me, and she never gave up on me. Through it all, her love was so strong, that it survived, even after she passed away. ...even after all the mistakes I made. | „ |
~ Petey on his mother's sweet and calming personality. |
Grace has the charming and sweet personality that can only be compared to her grandson, Li'l Petey. She would always be the calming and supportive person until her passing, no matter how dark things seemed, such as she and Petey living with her husband's divorce. She never gave up for the things she needed to protect her family, including Little Jim.
