Great Izuchi is a Bird Wyvern first introduced in Monster Hunter Rise.
Appearance[]
All over their body, Great Izuchi have short orange fur, with white fur patches on their head, back, tail, and base of the neck. Scales under the fur are a cream tint that darkens to indigo as it approaches the limbs. The animal features a long, thin nose, tiny pupils on its orange eyes, and fangs that resemble those of a cobra on both its upper and lower jaw. Smaller plating lines the back of it, while larger gray plating covers its underbelly. With the middle finger extended and taking on the shape of a hook, the arms have three fingers. With its bony, scythe-like tail that it mostly employs for fighting, it is easily recognized. With its keen edge, the scythe can quickly cut through many bamboo stalks in one blow.
Behavior and Abilities[]
One kind of Bird Wyvern always moves in packs of three or more. The Great Izuchi is extremely cooperative and intelligent, even by Bird Wyvern standards. It can order its two sharpest pack members to launch numerous combination attacks alongside it, using their scythe-like tails in combination, either simultaneously or sequentially. It is also incredibly nimble, easily able to backflip or swing its entire body around many times. Its capacity to spit stones and pebbles at its enemies is similar to that of the smaller Izuchi; however, the Great Izuchi can spit far further than an Izuchi.
