The Great Jar is an NPC character in the 2022 Role-playing video game Elden Ring. As his name suggests, he is a living jar of gigantic size that resides in Caelid and appears to guard the entrance to the region's colosseum.
Why isn't it heroic or villainous?[]
- He does nothing but just sit at the entrance of the colosseum to await anyone who seeks to challenge his knights.
- He doesn't harbor any villainous nor good traits, as his personality (along with his background/backstory) is not fully explored.
Biography[]
While nothing is known of his origins, the Great Jar lives in the rot-infested region of Caelid, possibly as a survivor of the Shattering and the Battle of Aeonia. He can be found at the entrance to the colosseum located there.
Upon being encountered by the Tarnished, he will allowed them to challenge each of his three knights (they are copies of players who have already completed the challenge). If they defeat all three of them individually, the Great Jar will reward the Tarnished with his talisman.
