Chef Gustavo Mustachio is one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside the General Inspector) of John Patrick Green's 2020 children's graphic novel InvestoGators, the first installment of the franchise of the same name, and a minor character in the 2023 graphic novel InvestiGators: All Tide Up.
He is a chef and the owner of Batter Down that also appears on every pizza box, which is where he is mostly recognized in. Then, suddenly, he was kidnapped by Crackerdile in an attempt for him to be a more powerful being by being baked in radioactive dough. However, he instead baked him with normal dough and later discovered his assistants tried to steal his recipe. He also later got kidnapped seemingly by a pirate ghost, but turns out it's all fake.
Why Isn't He Truly Heroic Nor Villainous?[]
- He is not heroic nor villainous and is generically nice at people at best which is not enough to make him heroic.
Biography[]
Gustavo opened up Batter Down and also had assistants such as Marie and Bob. However, one day, Gustavo got kidnapped by Crackerdile, so that he can use him to be baked with radioactive dough to become powerful.
Later, sometime, Crackerdile told Gustavo as to how he came who he is now, and that Gustavo feels some sympathy for him despite everything. Then, Crackerdile prepares to be baked, but Gustavo secretly put regular dough instead without him knowing, which he then breaks out.
Gustavo then arrives at Batter Down where the investigators are. Then, he also later finds out about Marie and Bob's plot of stealing the recipes when he was kidnapped in an interrogation. So, Marie and Bob are arrested.
Gustavo also goes onto a cruise ship for fun. However, he seemingly gets kidnapped by a pirate ghost and its crew. It turns out it's all fake, however.
