Hailey is the main protagonist of the Red Universe series by Crazy is Crazy, She is a 13 year old high school student that had ended up in an evil alternate universe after blowing out a red candle.
Why aren't they heroic or villainous?[]
She is just an average teenager and hasn't really done anything heroic, and she is also a victim as she struggles to survive and get back to her own universe.
Biography[]
When Hailey is asleep. She hears a doorbell and goes to answer. She sees a blue and red candle with a note saying to blow out the candle of your favorite color. Hailey blows out the red candle, causing the moon and sky to turn red and the red candle to short circuit and explode. Hailey wakes up and is happy that it was all “a nightmare”. She dresses up in her school uniform, then checks the window to see the weather and sees that she is now in a red, scary world. She panics and starts to regret blowing the candle. She remembers her mom and dad and tries to find them, only to find out they aren't here. A knock is heard, and Hailey answers the door.
She sees Alfred, who tells her "Guten Tag" (Good Morning in German), Hailey asks if he can speak English, Alfred says he can whilst still speaking German. He introduces himself to her, Hailey says he looks funny, in which Alfred thanks her in response. However, he would reveal his true nature to her when he says that he was going to kill her. Hailey would think that he was joking at first, only for Alfred to tell her that everyone in this world wants to kill her and that there is nothing she can do to stop them and that they will find her. Before he can finish his sentence, Hailey closes the door, crying in fear. She gets her backpack and opens the door, seeing that Alfred is gone, she runs away into the forest.
After doing so, she stumbles upon a fountain with a white glowing mirror. She sees the fountain and says it's beautiful. The white, glowing mirror then speaks to her. Hailey asks who they are. They introduce themselves as Velius and tell them they are the fountain of the red truth. They would notice that she is new here and ask if she is, and she says she is and asks how she can get out of this universe. They say that they only tell visitors answers if they give them a coin but say that since she's new here, they'll answer for free. Hailey thanks them for this.
They tell her there are two ways to escape from this universe, only to say there is only one way and that they were joking. They tell her that she must visit Queen Emily, but tells her not to as she is so evil, and she doesn't like visitors. They tell her that if she wants to then she'll have to evade the monsters, robots, and humans in this universe. They then show Hailey a flashback to show how evil she really is. In this flashback, Red Universe Rick, Red Universe Jip, Red Universe Mark, Robbin, Cecilia Crystal, and Red Universe Mitchel all hold red candles in her castle, which she congratulates them for.
Rick would then burp out loud, which would annoy her and lead to her teleporting Rick to her and telling him not to be disgusting to her. Rick tries to say it was just a burp but is cut off when she repeats the same phrase to him before zapping and disembodying Rick's leg with her staff.
Red Universe Jip laughs at Rick's punishment, which leads to Robbin punching him and Queen Emil ordering Robbin to give her his arm. Jip begs for mercy, only to be zapped and teleported away by Robbin. She tells him to give Jip's arm tomorrow, to which Robbin complies. She then teleports Mark to her and asks Brittany what she wants; Brittany says she wants nothing except his watch, annoying Mark and ending the flashback.
Velius tells her that Queen Emily is the only way to let her out of this universe, but doesn't think she'll let Hailey go. Hailey is tearing after hearing this. Velius then tells her that they saw something behind her. Hailey turns around and sees six glowing red eyes come out of the dark. Velius gives her a portal for her to escape; she runs through it. Velius is annoyed that she didn't thank him and says they feel like an "Alfred". Alfred would hear this and clears his throat.
Velius sees him and tells him to go away. After escaping through the portal, Hailey discovers an abandoned house, which she enters. As she passes the window, BinaBine's red glowing eyes would appear in the dark. Knowing Hailey has entered the house, she presses a button that activates everything in the house, along with the radio, which begins playing the English cover of the Japanese horror song Hide and Seek.
BinaBine then comes out of the woods and prepares to enter. Hailey sees her on the window and closes and rubs her eyes with her hands; she disappears from her sight, only for her to see her again after blinking. She spots her; Hailey runs away as BinaBine knocks down the door and searches for her; she goes upstairs and chases Hailey, flashing into Melody several times.
Hailey enters a room and seemingly hides in it. As BinaBine opens the door, she tries to find her by lifting the bed, only to find that she isn't under it. She wonders where she is and then sees the closet and thinks she is there; she opens it and sees that she still isn't there, annoying her. Hailey gets down from the open window she used to get out upon entering the room and escapes to the forest.
After this, two meat cleavers hit two trees, with one of them nearly striking Hailey on the tree she was standing at. Red Universe Rick and Red Universe Jip arrive, with Rick announcing his victory. He notices Hailey and realizes she's not from their universe, so he takes her with them. He would put a ball and chain on her foot to prevent her from running away and get her to play a game with them. She, along with Jip and Rick, would try to strike three pieces of wood the farthest as they could.
Jip would also tell Hailey if she ends up losing the game, she would be killed. Jip decides to go first and strikes. Hailey misses her try, shocking and worrying her. Rick goes last and throws his meat cleaver, accidentally striking Jip in the head instead (which doesn't hurt or kill him somehow), making him 3rd place and Hailey 2nd, much to Rick's anger. Mark arrives and laughs at Rick's failure. Jip and Mark talk about going to Crystal Wine to go for a drink.
Hailey asks if she can come with them; they agree to let her come with them, annoying Rick. After ending up at the entrance of a shop, Jip tells Mark that he and Rick are going to smoke. Mark leaves the scene, leaving Hailey alone. Hailey would begin to feel worried and start walking. She would then see three Red Universe citizens talking. However, they would end up spotting her. She would then turn her head away from them as she tried to give herself some confidence.
She would see a cookie shop and decide to go there. Bathia arrives and asks a worried Hailey which flavor she'd like. Hailey says she wants a chocolate cookie; she gives her one for free, as she's new. She asks Hailey who she is; Hailey introduces herself, and so does Bathia, who says she's a bat monster. Hailey asks where her nose is, since bats have noses. We are then shown a scene where Bathia plays 'Got your nose' with an unamused Brittney, Brittney zaps Bathia's nose with her staff and removes it, replying “Now I got your nose!”, Bathia says she doesn't want to talk about it, Hailey sees Mark going to Crystal Wine, and thanks her for the cookie before leaving, as she leaves Bathia looks at her suspiciously and licks her lips.
As Hailey walks to Crystal Wine, she sees a Manhold cover, but ignores it and enters Crystal Wine. She sees a bunch of red universe citizens, along with Robbin getting into a fight with two red universe humans, whom he successfully pummels. Hailey meets with Mark and introduces herself to him. She gives him her hand, only for him to not shake it. hailey then spots Alfred smiling at her at the entrance and begins to feel worried. Alfred is then kicked in the face by Rick, who tells him to get out of his way and calls him a “pinhead.”
Jip would sit next to Mark, while Rick sits next to Hailey. Hailey introduces herself to Rick and tells her his name. However, Rick will rudely call her name 'stupid'. Hailey does see his name as cool when he introduces his name. Cecilia arrives and gives Mark his wine. After looking at Hailey with her higher eye, Hailey remembers what Velius told her would happen if anyone in the Red Universe got her. She would tell them that she had to go and say it was nice to meet them. However, as she anxiously tries to leave, she is stopped by Cecilia Crystal. Hailey asks her where the toilet is; she points to where it is. As Hailey goes down, she looks up and sees the same man that she saw before entering the bar, with Hailey uttering, 'Oh no!''.
Alfred arrives from one of the doors, talking about how Hailey escaped from BinaBine along with Rick, Mark, and Jip, and tells her that she told Cecilia Crystal about her. Cecilia would appear and stab Hailey with a bone, and would have her landing on a circle of bones. Cecilia sadistically reveals that the wines she makes are all out of blood and that Hailey's blood was perfect to drink. She attempts to hit Hailey with six bones, only for Hailey to dodge them by clinging to the bones. Annoyed, Cecilia removes all the bones besides the one Hailey is on. She summons a giant skeletal hand; a portal appears on it, allowing Hailey to get kidnapped.
Cecilia sees that Hailey is gone and yells “WHAT!?” in shock and confusion. The portal leads Hailey to Red Ant's lab, where she falls unconscious on the ground. Red Ant takes her to his lair. After she wakes up, Red-Ant introduces himself. He tells her he won't kill her if she answers her questions correctly, and tells her about his hatred for Queen Emily and his plans to overthrow her and become king of the red universe. He says that he needs a spy to do this plan and asks if she wants to be his spy. Hailey asks what would happen if she said no. Red-Ant's robots aim their green lasers at Hailey, making her comply.
She goes to the underground, where Calpurjay shows and gives her some of the gadgets she made for her, after exiting the lab. She would see a monument saying that at 15:00 everyone in the Red Universe except for Queen Emily, her guards, and Brittany have to remain quiet for an hour as a daily tradition or be punished. As Hailey hears a noise, Alfred aims his machine gun at Hailey and prepares to shoot her, but accidentally breaks his neck when trying to crack it in both sides while preparing.
He screams in pain loudly, which Queen Emily hears when taking a bath. Hailey investigates the noise and sees Red Universe Mya and Crazy Mindy about to torture and kill a Red Universe human they have kidnapped. Before they can begin, Hailey's phone starts ringing. She desperately tries to turn it off as they hear it; she manages to run away quickly before they check.
Hailey finally makes it to Queen Emily's castle, but comes across Fire Ear, who is guarding the road to her castle. She tells her that Queen Emily hates visitors and would tell her to go away. She gives her puppy eyes for half an hour straight and seemingly manages to convince her. Fire Ear would say that they can go to a place where they can talk this out and then bring her to Queen Emily afterwards. Hailey agrees to this, Fire Ear gives her her hand, but as Haile is about to shake it. Fire Ear would grab her hand with her tail and teleport her to some strange, black place. Fire Ear jumps high and shoots a wave of blue fire at her. After seemingly killing Hailey, she sees that she has disappeared from the spot, shocking and confusing her. Hailey, having barely managed to have dodged the fire and having turned invisible using the belt from Calpurjay, appears visible again behind Fire Ear and escapes through the portal.
She comes across Alfred, who is now wearing a neck brace, and Robbin. Alfred looks at Robbin, who is looking in his mirror, and replies that he has to look evil before he can catch her. Alfred looks to see that Hailey is gone and turns his head and looks angrily at Robbin. Robbin asks why he's doing that face but would remember that he can't talk due to the daily tradition and laughs about it. Hailey becomes visible again behind Robbin, which shocks Alfred. She enters the castle; Brittany notices her and shoots a red lightning bolt at her using her staff. At this moment, Robbin bursts open the door to get Hailey, only to be turned to stone by Brittney's bolt after Hailey dodges it. Brittney goes to warn Queen Emily about Hailey.
After Hailey makes it to Queen Emily's throne and meets Queen Emily, she is surprised that Hailey survived all the animatronics, people, and monsters from this universe. She tells Hailey she can't escape from her and disappears, appearing from the ceiling on her webs and scaring Hailey. Hailey goes invisible using the belt that was given to her by Red Universe Calpurjay, but Queen Emily captures her in a web and releases her. She then removes the entire floor except the part where she and Hailey are on, revealing lava underneath. Queen Emily opens a portal behind her that seemingly leads to her home world and tells Hailey to go ahead. Hailey asks why she is doing this, revealing that she is doing this out of sadistic pleasure. Hailey asks if she is hurting her; Queen Emily replies with “no.”
Hailey would tell Queen Emily that she doesn't want to hurt or kill her, before asking about why Queen Emily and the other civilians in the Red Universe want her dead for no reason. Even though she didn't do anything to her. Hailey would say that she wants to go back to her real world and not fight her. Queen Emily seemingly has a change of heart and tells Hailey that she is sorry and opens the portal for her. Hailey would it, only to end up in a cell, revealing that Queen Emily had lied and tricked her. Brittney taunts her about thinking Queen Emily would let her go, saying she isn't the strongest human in this world and calling her a “stupid head” and saying she would be free if she did not visit them. After Brittney leaves, Hailey looks at the camera and says, “help me”. As she closes her eyes in despair, the screen goes black and an evil female laugh is heard; it then shows Red Universe Hailey's eyes turning from red sclera and white pupils to white sclera and black pupils and red irises.
