J.D. McPillar is a minor character in Cars 3. He is a Next-Gen racer who races for team Tow Cap.
Why aren't they heroic or villainous?[]
- All he did is just racing and he played it fairly.
Biography[]
He enters the 2016 Piston Cup Race as a replacement for the previous Tow Cap racer Jack DePost, debuting at the Rustbelt Raceway offscreen. He also races in the Los Angeles 500, where he starts in fourth place. During the race, he manages to stay in fourth place for the first part but eventually gets overtaken by Jackson Storm, Lightning McQueen, and other next-gens such as Herb Curbler and Danny Swervez. He is later seen taking a pit stop with McQueen and Storm, ultimately finishing the race in thirteenth place.
At the 2017 Florida 500, he is interviewed by an RSN reporter next to Ed Truncan and Dan Carcia. During the race, he starts in eighth place and manages to stay in the top ten. He crashes during the crash caused by Cam Spinner, due to him being far up in the pack not helping. Eventually, Cruz Ramirez and Paul Conrev pass him at some point, because she imagine him as a tractor, and he is seen racing besides Aaron Clocker, then overtakes him and passes H.J. Hollis. Later, they both pass him again along with Cruz. Somehow, he manages to stay above Paul Conrev. He finishes the race in eighth place.
Trivia[]
- His name resembles that of the late NASCAR driver J.D. McDuffie, who had passed away in 1991 at Watkins Glen.
