Official Bio[]
“ | Jackson Storm is fast, sleek, and ready to race. A frontrunner in the next generation of racers, Storm's quiet confidence and cocky demeanor are off-putting—but his unmatched speed threatens to redefine the sport. Trained on high-tech simulators that are programmed to perfect technique and maximize velocity, Jackson Storm is literally built to be unbeatable—and he knows it. | „ |
Description[]
Personality[]
Storm is a racing prodigy who, like McQueen in his early career, is arrogant, self-assured, and dismissive of his rivals. Storm, on the other hand, views the older racers as an outmoded generation that needs to be replaced, in contrast to McQueen who genuinely admired The King and Doc Hudson. Storm is determined to defeat everyone who stands in his way, whether they are experienced competitors like McQueen or ominous rivals like Cruz Ramirez, because he believes the future of racing belongs to him. Storm is an expert at playing on emotions, and he frequently employs passive aggressive language to try to break down his opponents. Storm typically doesn't need touse physical force toprevail; his psychological strategy and impeccable technique usually suffice, but he was shown to be so determined to succeed that, when Cruz presented a genuine challenge, he was willing to push Cruz into the wall.
Appearance[]
Having been built specifically for racing, Storm's design is quite advanced, and his sleek model was constructed with carbon fiber and metal composite, with the concept of speed in mind. A 2017 Custom built Next-Gen Piston Cup Racer, his chassis is built with hydroformed alloy and steel. His Maximum Performance V-8 engine with 850 horsepower is responsible for his ability to reach 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, as well as his top speed of 214 miles per hour.
Storm is painted in a black livery, with his doors sporting a design resembling a thick blue lightning bolt. His eyes are greyish blue and his sides also feature his racing number, 20 (however, it's stylized to look like "2.0" to resemble the next generation), as well as contingency sponsors, including the Piston Cup, Combustr, Carbon Cyber, and SynerG in addition to his own sponsor, IGNTR Liquid Adrenaline.

Biography[]
Past[]
At first, Storm was a cyber-sportsman, making a living playing racing video game called Super Corsa 3. His greatest achievement was winning a lot of money from a cyber-sport tournament organized by the CEO Axle P. Biggs. He organized this tournament to find a worthy racer for his team. His team was able to recruit piston cup racers Storm and Tim Treadless out of the 10 cars that entered this competition, Jackson was the winner. Mr. Biggs asked a pickup truck named Ray Reverham to find Jackson and engage him in the real sport.
After that Mr. Biggs blackmailed Storm, saying that if he did not become a racer then he would have to return all the money that he won from the tournament, and that he would not be involved in the video-gaming business. Storm then accepted the offer, but his cockiness was hard to deal with.
IGNTR, a liquid adrenaline company, soon offered to sponsor Jackson. He accepted, on the condition that Ray could be his crew chief. A statistical analyst from the racing centre had actually contacted IGNTR and told them about Jackson's skills.
Cars 3[]
When he pulls off a surprise upset at the Copper Canyon Speedway and passes Lightning McQueen in the final lap to win, Jackson Storm makes his debut on the racing scene. While Storm puts on a happy face for the media and accepts McQueen's congratulations, his words to McQueen reveal his thinly veiled contempt.
Storm wins numerous races later in the season, which causes a significant change in the racing industry. A new generation of high-tech racers enters the scene as the older racers retire or are dropped by their sponsors. Only McQueen from the previous generation is still competing in the Los Angeles International Speedway's final race of the season. Storm ruins every situation.
Jackson Storm puts in a lot of work on the eve of the following season to get ready for the Florida 500, the season's first race. He breaks record after record while also setting the fastest lap in history.
Finally, the Florida 500 day arrives. Cruz Ramirez is spotted by Storm prior to the race, but Storm misinterprets her as a spectator due to the paint job adjustments she made as part of McQueen's preparation. He offers to take a picture of them in a somewhat patronizing manner, but is then confronted by McQueen. Having started in pole position, Storm leads the race for the majority of it until his crew chief alerts him that McQueen has been replaced by Ramirez, who is closing in on him. Storm initially dismisses it by calling her "the costume girl" in jest. However, when she moves up to fourth place, Storm becomes more worried and decides to use his knowledge of psychological warfare. He lowers himself to be next to her and accuses her of being a fraud, telling her that he shares her understanding that she has no business being on the racetrack. Storm, feeling good about himself, believes he has broken her spirit, but before he can blink, she is back and hot on his trail. As Storm diverts his attention with her own asides and throws him off balance, Ramirez trash talks him, Storm, at her wit's end, overtakes Ramirez as the two racers begin the final lap, drives her into the wall in a furious attempt to prevent her from winning the race. Ramirez, however, deftly avoids his maneuver by leaping over him and triumphs in the race, Storm finishes 2nd, depriving Storm of the triumphant season debut he had hoped for, it is unknown what happened to Jackson Storm after that.

Cars 3: Driven to Win[]
Storm returns as the main antagonist and an unlockable playable character in Cars 3: Driven to Win now voiced by A.J. Hamilton, when Chick invited Lightning McQueen to his talk show to discuss the continuation of his racing career, which Chick considered "ill-advised". When Lightning, Jackson Storm and Cruz Ramirez set up a competition, he dubs it "Lightning Storm Cruise" and gives them access to the studio's racing simulator. Despite Chick being sure that Jackson will defeat Lightning, he is proved wrong when the latter wins instead. Enraged by his defeat, Jackson claims that the race was "fix" and boasts that he can beat "anyone, anywhere". He is thus dared to race at the Thunder Hollow Speedway, where he gets chased by Miss Fritter.
He is unlocked by completing the Master-level event Jackson Storm Race.

Why isn’t he heroic or villainous?[]
- Although he is sometimes nice to others, that is too far from heroism.
- The worst actions he did are mocking others and slamming Cruz Ramirez against the wall without causing serious injuries making him a jerk, not a villain, unlike Chick Hicks who crashes several other racers and even caused serious injuries against The King and Chuck Armstrong.
- Ultimately, he's just an arrogant racer focused on always winning.

Trivia[]
- Jackson Storm's role bears resemblence to antagonists like Chick Hicks, Ripslinger and Trip Murphy, albeit in a weaker capacity. Whereas Chick and Ripslinger are ruthless adversaries who will resort to all means for victory, Storm is barely seen committing such acts, as his extreme performance preludes the need of such.
- Jackson Storm, Sterling, Chick Hicks and Miss Fritter are the only antagonists in Cars 3.
- Jackson Storm is a modernized take on Lightning McQueen's design.
- Jackson Storm (Champion Mark Specification) was released August, 2018. It was a campaign item, which required spending 4000 yen or more on Cars Tomica items to apply for.
- Jacksom Storm (MovieNEX Original Specification) was realesed in 2019.
- Jackson Storm (Standard Type) was released July 16, 2022. It replaced the C05 Sally (Standard Type). It is mostly identical to the previously-released C43 Jackson Storm (Standard Type), but with different eyes.
- Storm's voice actor, Armie Hammer, was born on the same year Pixar was founded (1986).
- By winning the Piston Cup in his rookie year, Storm has achieved what McQueen was hoping to do in the first Cars film which he gave up and helped The King instead after learning that helping others is important than winning. It is highly possible, as another rookie may have won sometime between the events of the first and third films.
- Jackson plays the main villain role, and the story leads up to a final showdown against him. After the final race against him is beaten, he is unlocked as a playable character.
- Unlike Chick Hicks, Professor Zündapp and Miles Axlerod, Jackson Storm is the least evil main antagonist who never does anything evil, as his only intent is to top other racers and his worst crimes are psychological abuse and assault.
- Jackson Storm won ten races in a row before winning his first Piston Cup.
- Ironically, in spite of his clear hate for McQueen, Storm is very much like Lightning in the first film; the main difference is that Lightning still showed respect towards older champions, like the King, as shown when he chose to admit defeat by forfeiting his victory so he can help him finish his last race for good.
- Jackson Storm highly resembles a Nissan Concept 2020 Vision Gran Turismo, a concept supercar made for the Gran Turismo series by Polyphony Digital.
- He is a 2017 Custom built Next-Gen Piston Cup Racer.
- While Storm is the fastest Piston Cup racer, he is not the fastest car in the franchise: the record is held by Francesco Bernoulli (Lightning's rival in Cars 2), with a top speed of 220 mph.
- Jackson Storm's name and surname are different several languajes:
- Bulgarian: Джаксън Сторм (transcription: Dzhaksŭn Storm)

- Chinese (traditional): 風暴傑森 (pinyin: Fēngbào Jiésēn)
- Czech: Jackson Hrom

- Japanese: ジャクソン・ストーム (romanisation: Jakuson Sutōmu)
- Korean: 잭슨 스톰 역 (romanisation: Jaegseun Seutom Yeog)
- Polish: Jackson Sztorm
- Russian: Джексон Шторм (transcription: Dzhekson Shtorm)
- Ukrainian: Джексон Шторм (transcription: Dzhekson Shtorm).

- Jackson's actions in the final race reflect Chick Hicks' actions in the first movie, aggressively attacking King and McQueen.
- Armie Hammer previously portrayed the Lone Ranger from the 2013 film of the same name.
- Jackson Storm is similar to Ripslinger, due to their personality wise however, Ripslinger is more physical in his tactics like Chick Hicks, compared to Storm.
- His racing number is 20, stylized as 2.0, and his title sponsor is IGNTR. His crew chief is Ray Reverham, his mechanic is Laura Spinwell and his hauler is Gale Beaufort.
- He is a custom-built Next-Gen race car that competes in the Piston Cup Racing Series. After his debut in the 2016 season, Storm has proven to be very talented, reaching top speeds that veteran racers struggled to reach (210 mph).
- The Storm's stellar performance sparked interest in the next generation of running backs, and other Piston Cup teams began to replace their veterans with newer, more powerful running backs. Storm had many wins during his first full season and even set the record for fastest lap of all time at Florida International Speedway.
- He is one of three racers to have a named hauler the other two being, Paul Conrev, and Eric Braker.
- Even though Jackson has a top speed of 214 mph, there are many depictions of the background Piston Cup racers from Cars: The Video Game clocking even as high as 245 mph. However, the physics of older Cars games work much different than the more recent ones.
- If you play as Jackson Storm in the Boss Race against him, he will race against a clone of himself.
