Jeff, Megan and Linnie McCallister are supporting characters in the movie Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone: Lost in New York. Megan also appears in the questionably non-canon fourth movie Home Alone: Taking Back The House. They're Kevin's older siblings who, like most of the family, can be jerkish to him at times, but him getting lost will cause them to worry for their brother's safety.
Jeff was portrayed by Michael C. Maronna, Megan was portrayed by Hilary Wolf and Linnie was portrayed by Angela Goethals in the first movied and by Maureen Elisabeth Shay in the second. Megan was also portrayed by Chelsea Russo in the fourth movie.
Appearance[]
Jeff is a nine-year-old boy. He has red hair like his mother.
Megan is a fifteen-year-old girl. She has straigh brown hair.
Linnie is a twelve-year-old girl. She has long blond hair.
Personality[]
All of them are showed to be somewhat mean towards their younger brother, with Jeff calling him a disease, Megan accusing him of being an idiot, and Megan defining him as incompetent(s). Jeff particularly can be aggressive and rude.
However they also have their good qualities. Jeff actually recognized that Buzz’s apologize to Kevin was fake and was disappointed by it, and Megan was really worried about her brother’s well-being. All of them missed Kevin when he was lost.
Linnie appears to like speaking French, or at least is trying to do it.
Trivia[]
- According to the script, Megan is vain but regal and Jeff is aggressive and confident, but while Jeff shows the first trait in the movie, all the rest are mostly an informed attributes.
- The script itself also show Megan as far from vain, as she has even more scenes where she’s worried for Kevin, with her first scene only showing her as slightly aloof than self-centered. The deleted scenes also include her lashing out to Buzz after he shows no sympathy for their brother. Supposing the deleted scenes and the script are someway canon, Megan is arguably the most protective of Kevin.
- Weirdly, the script says nothing about Linnie’s personality aside from her noticing to her father that Christmas isn’t the same without family, implying she may be wise beyond her years.
- Linnie’s insults in French are actually worded wrong, as she actually called Kevin “incompetents”, in the plural form.
- Jeff and Linnie are completely absent from the fourth movie. Since the film doesn’t have the original writers and has other inconsistencies, the fourth movie is arguably non-canon to the first two.
