Large, mouthless, purple, with three eyes and enormous fists, Joe "J.J." Ranft is employed as a scarer (and subsequently comic) at Monsters, Incorporated. However, his fear card indicated that he used to work for Fear Co. He was once employed at ScareCo, according to the Monster's Inc Collector's Edition DVD - Set Top Activity - Scarer Cards. and Scaremasters, but in return for two minor league predators, he was sent to Monsters Inc. But when his Scare Card revealed that he had previously worked for Fear Co., this was refuted. When joining Monsters, Incorporated, he is the third placer just under Sulley and Randall.
Trivia[]
- He bears the late Joe Ranft's name, a Pixar employee who passed away.
- His fear card claims that he collaborates alongside his brother and cousin. Working with his brother might be a reference to Jerome Ranft, an employee of Pixar who was named for the late Joe Ranft.
