The Jyuratodus are a species that are from the science fantasy videogame, Monster Hunter: World.
Why aren’t they heroic or villainous?[]
- They are mainly minding their own business until the hunter comes.
Appearance[]
Because Jyuratodus is linked to Lavasioth, it has features similar to those of a bipedal coelacanth fish, but instead of being navy-blue, it is dark brown in hue. Its long, thick tail is complemented by two dorsal fins, two pectoral fins, and two pelvic fins. Jyuratodus covers itself with muck and sludge, not solidified lava like Lavasioth does. There are wounds on Jyuratodus's head, torso, legs, and tail.
Behavior and Abilities[]
In order to protect itself, Jyuratodus may coat its body with mud and spew forth a watery sludge that can briefly capture predators. When swimming through swamp water, Jyuratodus leaves behind substantial mud mounds that hunters might utilize as a platform to avoid being slowed down. Jyuratodus will roll in muck and coat its body with it, just like Barroth did. Jyuratodus's body will be shielded by the mud from harm as well as from the Thunder Element, which is its main elemental weakness.
Due to their shared muddy habitats, Jyuratodus and Barroth are known to conflict. Jyuratodus would ambush Barroth during a Turf War from below, attempting to bite and strangle the massive wyvern, only to be flung forcefully to the ground, doing damage to both monsters. Jyuratodus won't trouble anything in its domain, even the Gajau it shares, if left alone. However, Jyuratodus will become hostile and attempt to harm dangers if it feels unsettled.
Habitat[]
Watery areas such as the Flooded Forest and the areas of Wildspire Waste where mud and water flow are home to Jyuratodus. Even while it can run or walk on two legs to reach its target, it greatly prefers to swim. In fact, it has been seen to struggle and crawl forward on dry land in order to navigate its habitat.
