Kaori Daikoku (大黒 かおり, Daikoku Kaori) is a minor antagonist in the anime version of Ranma ½. She is a fiancé of Ranma Saotome who wanted to take out Akane Tendo so she can marry Ramna.
She was voiced by Hiromi Tsuru in Japanese and by Kelly Sheridan in English.
Biography[]
In order to get some food, Genma engaged his son with Kaori, the daughed of Mr. Daikoku, who offered the food to Genma and befoore leaving, Genma took back Ranma when Mr. Daikoku was cleaning the campsite.
Years later, Kaori and her father goes to the Tendo Dojo to find Ranma and there both find that Ranma is actually engaged with Akane, so Kaori decided to challenge Akane in the Martial Arts Takeout Race, the winner will have Ranma.
In the race, Kaori tries to ruin Akane's ramen but she is uncapable, so she ruined the ramen of other competitors. Then Kaori uses a chopstick to graze the side of Akane's ankle, making her leg numb and later traps Akane. Then Ranma appears in her female form and continues the race for Akane. Kaori chases her believing that she is another girl who wants to be with Ranma. Kaori chases Ranma's ramen only to be inmediatly taken by Akane, but the narutomaki is missing, something that both needs to win the race. Ranma takes back the narutomaki, and tries to defeat Kaori. Ranma grabs Kaori's legs and the Ramen is caught by Akane, who manages to get her bowl to cross the finishing line first, making her the winner. That evening, Kaori puts back on her wedding robes and she and her father leave in their car. Kaori was not seen again.
Powers and abilities[]
Kaori is a martial artist able to run very quickly and even down steep slopes without falling. She also is able to injure her opponent's by using chopsticks to hurt their ankles so they can't compete as easily.
