Lampwick is a minor antagonist, specifically to Jimmy Cricket, in the 1940 film, Pinocchio which is based on the 1883 Italian book, The Adventures of Pinocchio. He is a boy who dislike listening from adults.
He is voiced by the late Frankie Darro while his donkey sound effects are provided by the late Clarence Nash.
Biography[]
Lampwick is first seen on the Coachman's Stagecoach where he meets Pinocchio, and the two became friends, after the fun, Pinocchio, and Lampwick were playing, drinking and smoking, then Jimmy arrive, and told Pinocchio to come home with him but Pinocchio wouldn't, Lampwick later insult him. Because of all of those stuff, Jimmy left. After that, something strange happen, Pinocchio and Lampwick turn into donkeys, however Pinocchio escaped, it unknown what happened to Lampwick after this scene but most likely captured by The Coachman or his minions.
Personality[]
Lamwpick enjoys not being listen by adults. Lampwick is also kind of a jerk. However despite that, Lampwick is affable towards Pinocchio.
Appearance[]
As a human, Lampwick is a white human with a green bow, a yellow short, a green pants and brown shoes. As a donkey, Lampwick is a brown donkey.
Trivia[]
- In the 1883 book, Lampwick is known as Candle wick.
- Also in the same book, his real name is Romeo.
- In that same book, Lampwick has a larger role rather than a small role.
- As he turns into a donkey, his hands turn into hooves. However in real life, a donkey's hoof only correspond a human's middle finger.
- As shown in early concepts/sketches, Lampwick was going to escape with Pinocchio and Jimmy Cricket but got captured, this was later included in some books based on the film.
