The Lao-Shan Lung are an Elder Dragon species that appears in the fantasy videogame, Monster Hunter. Colossal monsters that dwell deep in the mountains, Lao-Shan-Lung occasionally embark on migrations through the mountains, flattening whatever may lie in their path, including human settlements. As such, hunters are often called in to fight these gigantic beasts, hoping to either slay them or force them to take a route away from humans.
Why aren’t they heroic or villainous?[]
They do not act out of malice, merely being too big to notice the damage they are causing.
Physiology[]
Lao-Shan Lung has a massive, cream-colored underbelly and a copper red body. Its neck, back, and tail are covered in a large number of dark gray spikes. Its hands and feet are dark gray, and its limbs are rather tiny. Its head has a tiny horn on the front that points upward and bends back slightly, and eight enormous horns that curve rearward. Its mouth contains a few bigger teeth on the exterior of several smaller teeth.
Abilities[]
While it lacks the elemental abilities of its Elder Dragon kin, the Lao-Shan-Lung makes up for it with its sheer size. A colossus measuring up to 69.6 meters long at minimum, it can bulldoze entire bastions with little effort. Capable of living for thousands of years, debris and dust has condensed on the monster's body and melted thanks to its intense body heat, fusing into an impenetrable, multi-layered shell that is as hard as stone. Thanks to its incredible size, the Lao-Shan-Lung can cause rockslides with a single roar, while as an Elder Dragon it is nearly impossible to tire out.
Behavior[]
Even in the face of several adversaries, Lao-Shan Lung remains incredibly submissive. It mostly overlooks Hunters on its route to the town fortress, giving the impression that it doesn't care about them. Having said that, it will work very hard to breach the fort rather than just fleeing.
Habitat[]
Lao-Shan Lung can live in a variety of habitats, but because of the abundance of minerals in mountains and volcanic regions, it prefers them.
