The Librarian (real name: Margaret Jesner) is a minor antagonist from the movie, Monsters University.
Background[]
She works at the school library at Monsters University and is an old female monster. The librarian has gray hair, a black outfit, and horn-rimmed spectacles that make her resemble a little, gray, octopus monster with eight tentacles. When she's standing, she seems to be a lumbering monster the size of the library where she works, but seeming little and inoffensive when seated at her desk.
She detests sounds made within the library. She will use her tentacles to assault any creature that she finds to be too noisy. If they are discovered, she will hurl them out of the library and into the river that faces the entrance. The Librarian will cry out in a quiet, whispery voice, "Quiet!" if she is upset.
Biography[]
In the Scare Games, the librarian participates in the "Avoid the Parent" challenge, in which her response to noise is used to simulate the threat posed by parents and the need for a Scarer to avoid being discovered by one. She throws teams out of the library and disqualifies them from the tournament if she catches them. as only one team may be removed per event and placing last results in disqualification.
They all begin to scatter and purposefully make noises from different parts of the library when Oozma Kappa unintentionally makes a creak in one of the floorboards, grabbing the librarian's attention. This confuses and distracts the librarian while Squishy takes their flag without noticing, which ultimately leads her to capture Slugma Slugma Kappa and toss them out of her library and into the river instead.
