Little Teddy is the titular main protagonist of Watch Out Little Teddy, a metafictional online safety video within the universe of The Amazing World of Gumball. He is an accident-prone bear who is repeatedly injured and subsequently reprimanded by the narrator.
Why isn't he heroic or villainous?[]
- His role in the video is to simply teach viewers how to be safe and avoid getting into danger, which is too far from heroism.
Biography[]
In the video, Little Teddy first appears cooking some cookies. He is very excited, but accidentally burns his hands when he tries to bring out the cookies. As a result, the narrator scolds him to be careful around ovens. In the next scene, Little Teddy looks out from a window and sees a bird in the tree. However, Little Teddy falls out of the window and lands on the ground, with the narrator yelling at him to be careful around window. Later, Little Teddy is seen chasing a butterfly in a field, but accidentally knocks himself over with a rake, and the narrator reprimands him to be careful around garden tools. Next, he is seen walking to an old woman about to cross the road. As they start crossing the road, Little Teddy places his arm around the old woman, which angers her and causes her to beat his head with a crowbar until a bump rises from his head. This causes the narrator to scold Little Teddy to be careful around strangers, and immediately afterwards Little Teddy is struck by an oncoming car, and the narrator also says to be careful around cars. The scene then shifts to Little Teddy dancing inside a circle of singing children. At the end of the video, Little Teddy tells the viewer to take care since danger is lurking everywhere, as the video becomes eerily distorted.
In "The Safety", Mr. Small's class watches the video and get extremely traumatized by its disturbing and unsettling nature, though no one else is more scared than Darwin.
