NOTE: Due to too little information of both characters to have separate pages, they will be on a single page here.

Lucy's Parents are the overreaching unseen characters of Elfen Lied. They are the biological parents of the main protagonist Lucy who the father abandoned her after birth despite mother's objections against it wanting to her keep her instead which had their daughter end in the abusive orphanage that would turn her into the homicidal misanthrope that she is.

When Lucy’s mother attempted to find her own daughter, she would’ve been captured by Chief Kakuzawa and raped her that ultimately had her half brother be born. But before Kakuzawa can force her to have more, she got driven to suicide to end her suffering.

Why Aren't They Heroic Nor Villainous?

  • All Lucy's father did is simply drop and abandon his own daughter Lucy in a forest that would have her get sent to an orphanage against his wife's will. It is unclear if he intended to have her die or be found due to it being too much reliant on the viewer to decide, making it fall under fridge-horror. While it makes him completely responsible for making her into a dissociative murderer, it is too unintentionally heinous to make him a Villain, since he had no idea the events that would lead from here afterwards.
  • Lucy's mother did attempt to stop her husband from getting rid of Lucy for her horns, wanting to keep Lucy, and when he went against her wishes she did try to find her. However, since she was captured by Chef Kauzawa she never got to find her so it isn't enough to make her a Hero here with one failed search & rescue attempt.

Biography

When Lucy was born, Lucy’s father attempted to get rid of her because of her having horns, but Lucy's mother heavily objected to abandoning their daughter, wanting to keep her despite her horns due to her loving her daughter despite the horns. Despite it, Lucy’s father went against his wife’s wishes and abandoned her in an orphanage, where it would later.

Meanwhile, when Lucy's mother found out what he had done, she went to go find her and bring her daughter home. Her search got the attention of Chief Kakuzawa, who somehow managed to kidnap and capture her, where he would raped her for being able to have fertile Diclonius which led to Lucy's Half Brother being born, but likely due to being mentally unstable and traumatized from it, she would manage to commit suicide where Kanazawa failed to get proper genetic samples to do it again.

Lucy would've gained a hatred for her parents for seemingly throwing her away until she found out much later on that her mother truly cared and loved her. He tried to keep her letting go of it, but she likely still hates her father for being the one to abandon her.

Personality

Not much is known about them, but Lucy's Father abandoned his own daughter because of her horns, likely much similar distaste of other human characters hate it. Meaning he would throw Lucy away for having horns despite being his own daughter.

However, Lucy’s mother wanted to keep her despite the horns on her that her father disliked here. When he went against her, she did whatever it takes to find her, meaning that she does not mind the horns and truly loved and cared for her daughter. Since she was driven into suicide by Chief Kakuzawa, she likely got mentally traumatized and had scarred from being rape and forced to birth his child been the reason.

Appearance

Lucy's Farther has no confirmed appearance and only some of her was seen since most of her face is covered by restrains. However, she has a similar hairstyle to her own daughter, implying she may have a similar appearance to Lucy.

Powers and Abilities

Her father likely had normal human abilities and nothing supernatural, but her mother, while also a human too, is capable to give birth to Diclonius. They have been having offspring unlike most of them due to a mutation in her genetics.

Trivia

  • Lucy's Father's actions make him the entire catalyst of the entire "Elfen Lied" Series, thanks to the fact he couldn't accept having a child with horns like her mother. That made him unintentionally responsible for thousands and later his own daughter being killed.
  • It is unknown how Lucy’s mother got found, but it's been implied that the father has sold his wife to the Diclonius Research Institute because he may have held her responsible for Lucy’s birth. He is afraid that she might give birth to more of his children similar to Lucy. However, that heavily relies too much on speculation and up to the viewer to decide to be valid and would still make him Conflicting Evil due to his motivative too well intended if anything make him more Conflicting Evil.
