Luxo, Jr. is Pixar's mascot and the titular main protagonist of the 1986 short film of the same name.
He is a a small, light gray desk lamp (although he has sometimes looked more white than light gray) who loves to play with bouncy balls. He has been seen in every Pixar feature film and short film since Toy Story, during the film's introduction and at the end of the credits as the "I" of the Pixar logo.
Why isn't he heroic or villainous?[]
- All he does is hop over to the Pixar logo, jumping on the capital "I" in "PIXAR" and squashing it in the beginning of every Pixar feature film and short film, which does not pertain to any heroic or villainous act.
- His in-film cameo appearances are all just background roles with him being inanimate and doing nothing at all.
Biography[]
In Luxo, Jr., he plays with a small inflated rubber ball, chasing it and trying to balance on it as Luxo, Sr., the larger lamp and his "father" reacts to these antics. The ball eventually deflates due to Luxo, Jr. jumping on it too much. Luxo, Jr. is admonished by Luxo, then finds and plays with an even larger ball.
Since Toy Story, Luxo, Jr. has appeared at the beginning of every Pixar feature film and short film, where he hops over to the Pixar logo, jumping on and squashing the capital "I" in "PIXAR", and also appears at the end of the credits as the "I" of the Pixar logo.
