"Max Schnell started as a humble production sedan from Stuttgart, Germany. An avid amateur racer, Max would practice alone in the back roads of the dense Black Forest—a trek that eventually caught the eye of a racing team owner. Soon Max was on a professional circuit, bearing the #4, and as his horsepower increased, he converted himself to carbon fiber, dropping his weight and getting into prime racing shape. He’s won more races at Motorheimring than any other World Torque Champion League car in history. A naturally brilliant engineer, he used logic and analytics to refine his build, and plans to approach the World Grand Prix in the same perfectly calculated manner."

Max Schnell competed in the three races of the competition in addition to the Radiator Springs Grand Prix, much like every other World Grand Prix racer. He was initially observed with the other racers at the Tokyo celebration. Max produced an excellent performance in the W.G.P. Nigel Gearsley and Max advanced to third place on the dirt segment in Tokyo, but Max then began to lag behind. Additionally, he initially started the Tokyo race in first place. However, Francesco Bernoulli, Lightning McQueen, Shu Todoroki, Carla Veloso, and Jeff Gorvette eventually overtook him. His engine blew by the machine toward the finish of the race, making him the third racing vehicle that the Lemons' camera almost destroyed. He was observed following Miguel Camino from fifth to fourth place in the Porto Corsa and London races. He attempts to brake ahead of the massive pile-up during the Porto Corsa collision. But he fails, crashing hard into Shu Todoroki and Miguel Camino. Shortly after, they are collided with by Raoul ÇaRoule and Rip Clutchgoneski. It seems he was repaired, raced in London, and then made an appearance in the Radiator Springs Grand Prix.
