Personality[]
Mike Teavee is an extremely arrogant young boy. He thinks he is a genius through his own twisted beliefs about chocolate and television, but both his parents and Willy Wonka fail to understand what he is saying and believe his brain has been damaged by all of the time he spent in front of the television. This ultimately led to his own downfall.
In the 1971 film, he is shown to be quite mischievous as well since he would usually get out his fake gun and pretend to shoot people if they push his buttons. He also acts pretty whiny compared to his grouchy 2005 counterpart.

He is the fourth finder of the Golden Ticket. As he is playing his video games, he mentions to the interviewers the algorithm he follows in order to get the chocolate bar with the ticket while his parents were worried about his addictiveness to the TV. Him mentioning how he hated chocolate got Grandpa George to complain how it's a good thing he's going to a chocolate and called him an ungrateful little bu-(he gets cut off by Mr. Bucket covering his ears) before they shut off the TV. He is later seen reading his ticket.
On the day of the visit to the Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka remarks how he was able to crack the system. In the first room, he jumps on a candy pumpkin filled with jelly. He later asks if the Oompa Loompas are real people.
On the boat, when Willy Wonka was claiming that he was never a child, Mike said otherwise. He is later seen with Violet gazing at the gobstoppers. He asks Willy Wonka who wants to have a beard.
On the Glass Elevator, he asks why everything in the danger room is so pointless. he asks to pick a room and he picks the Television room. He then babbles on about scientific facts. When Willy Wonka asks Mike Teavee to take a shrunken chocolate bar, he refuses and arrogantly thinks its just a picture on a screen. He realizes that he invented a teleporter and scolds Wonka for only caring about Chocolate. He then proceeds to try it himself. But nobody could find him on the TV screen. The Oompa Loompa on the couch switches the channel and Mike Teavee appears. Then they sing a song about his addictiveness to TV. His dad grabs him and he asks to be put back in the other way. Willy Wonka asks his dad which half of his son he wants. Then the Oompa Loompas escort him and his dad to the Taffy Puller.
His dad wonders what he had become. He is indeed all stretched out, but ultimately tall and flat. They look at each other with confusion. After this, they walk out to the crowd where they were likely interviewed for his awful experience, and he is never seen again after that.
