As visitors who go to Radiator Springs and other places across the world, Minny and her husband Van frequently appear in the Cars franchise.
Biography[]
First seen in Cars, Minny and Van are searching for an on-ramp to Interstate 40 as they drive towards Radiator Springs. Van responds that he has a GPS and never needs a map again when Minny suggests that perhaps they should ask for one. When they were traveling to Shakopee for the "Crazy Days"—a parody of Derby Days—Van did the same, Minny says. Minny recommends that Van examine the map when Sally informs them that she has one inside the Cozy Cone Motel. As they prepare to depart, Lizzie places a sticker on Van's bumper as a memento of the locals, and Sally instructs them to tell their friends about the village. Van responds, "I don't need a map! I have the GPS." Van and Minny remain in silence for a few seconds after Lightning McQueen implores them to call for assistance. They cautiously lock their doors before they hastily depart the town when their automobile alarms go off.
Later, they are shown trapped in the midst of the desert, still searching for an on-ramp, in a post-credits scene. They have tumbleweeds attached to their tires and inside Van's luggage case, and they are covered in dust. Even though Van is nearly insane, he refuses when Minny asks if they can ask someone for directions, claiming that there is an on-ramp nearby.
Near the end of Cars 2, Minny and her husband Van make an appearance. She says she enjoys Mater's narrative about becoming a spy after hearing it. But it isn't until Holley Shiftwell shows up to verify it that Van starts to believe it. Later on, we meet Minny and Van at the Radiator Springs Grand Prix.
